Sick of playing straight 8th/16th notes grooves? We all need the bread and butter grooves that are simple and timeless, BUT when you want to let lose and get some funky chops in there this is what you need to know!
One of the ways we can spice up our grooves and do some more intricate hand work is utilizing rudiments as our groove framework. This groove consists of inverted doubles, and 2 paradidles. Once you play with proper technique and articulation you can really make these rudimental grooves musical and impressive!

Awesome video. Makes something that sounds more complex way easier to begin playing. I started like how you instructed at the beginning of the video and now I'm able to change up my sticking and kick patterns pretty effortlessly. Mahalo!

Eric I have been impressed with the tonality of each of you drums.... I love the low end sound which is produced as you attack your set is there anything special you do when you tune your kit. I do realize your set is has drum microphones on five areas of your kit. Would it be possible to share the following.... type of Evans Heads being used top and bottom.... any added muffling added do you use a straight type method (any jell or internal rings. if you can even do a lesson on your tune method it would be greatly appreciated.
