  • Watch how the Wood and Leather Doctor repairs a chair whose seat is completely cracked in half. And please watch til the very end. I am adding this ending onto all of my future videos. It regards stem cell transplantation and how you can painlessly donate to become the hero that saves a life. Just go to www.bethematch.org or giftoflife.org to learn more. Stem cell transplantation saved a member of my immediate family, which, in turn, saved my entire family. Please learn more and strongly consider painless stem cell donation. It all starts with a cheek swab.

    I came across this video when searching for repair ideas for split chairs with a dining set I picked up for $25. First, I love the pocket hole screws. I didn’t consider that, but I imagine it to work well. Secondly. I love the ending. I hope your loved one is still with us and doing well today. I am a survivor of acute myeloid leukemia and a stem cell transplant is a what gave me the better chance of long term survival. That transplant was 11 years ago. May the grace and peace of God be with your family and I hope your blessings are far too many to count. Thanks for the video. Caleb

    Thanks for the video, it was a big help. This also would work with a split wooden step on the staircase.

    Great video! I'd have liked to have seen you use the jig & drill the pocket screw holes. I have 2 oak chairs that this has happened to. Btw...was in Mt Laurel, NJ for training for my job....lovely place!!

    I have an old antique farmhouse chair that's doing this VERY thing, and I'd like to do what you've done here. Can you recommend a set of clamps I could pick up for things like this?

    • @woodandleatherdoctorllc1673
      @woodandleatherdoctorllc1673  4 года назад

      Yep, find a Harbor Freight Tools near you. There are a ton of bar clamps and pipe clamp fittings (you'll have to get the 1/2'pipes bought and cut at Lowe's.

      Wannella Lawson sure. If there is a lot of wood to wood surface available, I’d use Titebond 2 all day long. Thanks for the question.

      Texas Hobbies sounds like the identical repair I did on this video. You might need a few mending plates across the crack as well under the seat.

      I’m not sure either but please go to gift of life.org. I’m sure they’ll be able to find an appropriate place in your country. And thank you so much. I’ve done 20 or 30 videos all with the same play and you are the first person to offer to donate. That’s wonderful. If you Google stem cell donation locations in your area I’m sure it will come up. And it’s only a blood draw it is not a bone marrow donation so it’s painless. Again thank you so much.
