      Thanks, Rachael! Slowly, slowly!

I'm slowly, reluctantly coming to terms with the fact that everyone perceived as "older" is now a "boomer" regardless of actual generation. Won't be long now until older millennials start finding themselves called boomers.
That arcade looks amazing! If I am able to get to the UK again, I need to find my way there. I will always love the older games my elder Gen X self grew up with 😁
And, yep, getting older does some very not fun things to one's body. I hope your recovery accelerates, so you can get back to feeling like yourself soon.
Your bowl is adorable, and it's great you found such a good use for it, so you can love and appreciate it for a long time.

Haha, I know. I think it's somewhat tongue in cheek to call everyone a boomer. I'm an older millennial, but I can see the funny side. 😉

Sorry to hear your back is not good at the moment Theresa. You really are going through a fair few health problems.
Ramsbottom is a lovely little town. I used to live quite near there when I was first married. I'm glad you found us northerners friendly, we are known for it.
I hope you get to sew a little more soon.

Thanks Annette, in the grand scheme of things, I'm okay. These little niggles can get pretty tedious, though. And I agree, Ramsbottom is really sweet. And tons of great places to eat!

I thought you looked subtly different today; new glasses explain it. They look great, and how fun that they happen to be Liberty.
Your little pot is so sweet! That's a great use for it.
I have a few friends up around Manchester and I love visiting them. I'll have to check out that museum next time. I guess you didn't have a rummage at Abakhan Fabrics, or you would have mentioned it. I've found some gems there.

I saw Abakhan Farbics, but it was closed! I don't know if it was maybe closed for pride? Honestly though, it would have been cruel to drag my group of 4 around with me in a fabric shop. I'd end up spending the whole day in there!! 😂

Have you seen a chiropractor? Highly recommend finding someone that will help get things back in alignment. I used to have issues with the lumbar region, but the last few years it has actually been my SI and hips that shift around, but there are definitely exercises to help stabilize there. I use a variety, some from my chiro, some from videos. The best channel I've found for in depth explanations of what is going on and how the muscles relate is Upright Health. You do have to look around a bit, but he does have playlists and covers a variety of body areas and problems.

Thank you so much for these suggestions! I'm seeing a physiotherapist (physical therapist) through work tomorrow. I think I'll start there, but have had the idea of a chiropractor in mind, if I need it. I'll check that RUclips channel out!

Non-roll elastic is great for waistbands.

I thought this stuff was non-roll, but clearly not. Can't always trust what you buy!!

I hope your back feels better. Amazing all you’ve accomplished even with an injury. There’s so much new research that shows benefits of heavy weight training in women as we age. Curious if you’d try that. A good resource is Dr. Mary Claire Haver. ❤

I've heard that but wouldn't be up for it with my wrist issues. It's something that I'd like to look into someday. We need to do what we can to look after these bodies of ours!

I love clay and making things too! I haven’t used “real” clay in years but I’ve been using paper clay - it doesn’t need firing. We do have a local shop that sells greenware that you paint in shop and they fire it for you. Also have another local shop that sells clay, greenware, paints etc and will fire for a small fee. I’ve done both (love painted switch plates!). I’ll have to see if there is a local pottery class available. 😊

I recommend trying out throwing. It's a unique skill, but incredibly fun and satisfying!

Love the bowl. I enjoyed a similar experience with friends but making mugs. Mine is as big as a beer stein and is holding my seam gauge, fabric markers, etc, in my sewing room. 🤞your back is better ASAP. My aches and pains from decades of ICU nursing were a big factor in my decision to retire at 57. I still need to mind my body mechanics and do strength, balance and flexibility workouts 2x/week, so that I can enjoy the activities I ❤

Thank you so much, Nancy! It's tough work for our bodies, isn't it? We do the best we can! I love that you've been able to put your handmade mug to good use. Sounds like the perfect size for a sewing caddy!

Sorry to hear you’ve put your back out Theresa, I hope OH can help you get more comfortable. Your pot is very cute and practical! I recently found a ceramic tray in Barnardo’s and use it for the same purpose. Super handy for keeping the feet you need on hand

Thank you! I'm seeing someone tomorrow and am hopeful that they'll be able to help me get back to normal.
I'm terrible for setting my sewing machine down somewhere and forgetting where I left them. It's great to have a 'place' for these things!

I have a couple degenerative discs at the base of my spine, and at 26, it was recommended I get a rod implanted. I said no, and went to see my first chiropractor, I have no idea if there is that service in the UK. I hope there is. Because of regular care, at 67, there has been no further degeneration Lin those discs. I have found keeping my abs strong, along with yoga, 25 years now, which I now (and still) teach, help a lot. I do not agree with your assertion that the body falls apart with age. I am active, work out regularly, eat clean, and feel better than I did when I was in my 30’s. It does not mean nothing goes wrong, but I do keep working at my body and what I put in it, my posture, etc, and it makes a difference than if I sat back and didn’t do anything at all to help myself out. I saw others mention chiropractic care as well, I’m glad. My chiropractor I consider my first line of health care. Hope this helps. I’m about 20+ years down the road from you, and it does not get easier, requiring more out of me, but I’m up to the task. I realize giving up things like sugar and processed food is just something most people don’t want to do, but i have already taken that step and other steps long ago.

Thank you so much for this advice! I've been considering a chiropractor, but want to see what my work physiotherapist (physical therapist) recommends first. I guess I didn't literally mean that our bodies fall apart with age, more that they're more prone to issues if we aren't careful. We ask a lot of our bodies and over time, it takes its toll. I'm glad to hear that you've been able to find ways to feel better and continue to look after yourself. I think the key is not giving up and recognising that it will take effort!

I’ve been using waistband elastic for a few years now. It has the lines going up and down instead of along the length of the elastic. It has a firmer edge. I thought it would be uncomfortable because it seems so stiff but it’s not.

I didn't even realise that there was another type! I'll be looking out for that, for sure. Thanks for the tip!
