But then in the same turn, the moment you chopped out that horseman, that weakest most Northern city of yours jumped to 28 strength. So he didn’t seem to have a viable window to attack you
Idk if this was answered in chat, but Ursa Ryan is currently training for multiplayer by banning trading with AI and playing on Incandescent Difficulty using the Deity++ mod (names might be wrong), and has said in comments that playing online is likely in the future AFAIK.
@@ale6o Yeah, it's not linear, but I would say playing at Sid Meier difficulty (five levels above Deity if I remember correctly) is insanely difficult, but primarily at the start. It's the beginning that is hardest, then once you've built a good infrastructure and have started to rack up small advantages the later parts of the game become easier. In multiplayer, it's kind of the opposite. You do have to protect yourself early just in case you get a newbie, but from all of Herson's vids he stated that experienced players dont go to war early as it makes them irrelevant in the late game. So you are just trying to eke out every efficiency in settling, production and building up infrastructure early, but mid to late game is where multiplayer seems way more difficult. Still, I'd love to see Herson try a game against AI at Sid Meier difficulty :)
@@Shadraen1 They're not harder, it's just the AI get MASSIVE stat boosts, but they are so dumb they never build more than a few of one district, and waste their time building random useless aqueducts and neighborhoods. I’m not sure why single the single player civ 6 RUclipsrs are so scared of going into the competitive scene. Civ 6 multiplayer especially in the pro level is waaaay more fun to watch 🤩
Not so much being scared, but it breaks their content supply. In a single player game you can take a game and get a couple weeks of video posting out of it by cutting it into shorter videos. Most civ videos watchers aren't going to even click on a 3+ hour video.
i think prolonging the games at your pace against the AI can be more fun than having to learn the specific metagame of the multiplayer lobbies while having to try outpace the people there, plus turn time limits. I enjoy these videos but I still prefer my single player matches for my own time playing the game, or casual multiplayer with friends.

Historically, all of the most recent civ games have released in conditions that weren't really viable for competitive multiplayer. Both Civ 5 and Civ 6 didn't really surpass their predecessors until after several major DLC had come out, and they weren't balanced for multiplayer until community-made balance mods were created. If you're interested in playing multiplayer Civ, you might as well jump into Civ 6 right now.
