    Thanks Greg! I've been watching them from my window today. I like how they feed on the seeds of the plane trees in London

      Nice. I've seen a couple of them in my garden, so hopefully, when there's more seeds about I'll see them more.

    hii i have watched you every year since 2021 looking after frogs … will you be doing it this year ?

    • @GregsWildlife
      @GregsWildlife  Год назад

      Unfortunately, I won't be doing it this year. I feel like I would just be making the exact same videos as last year and the year before and the year before that. Nothing will have changed and I would find that very unsatisfying.
      I need to find a way to make Frog Watch fresh and exciting again. So I'm taking a break for this year, but I do have plans to hopefully bring the excitement back in the future.

    Are you doing frog watch 2023?

    • @GregsWildlife
      @GregsWildlife  Год назад

      No, I'm taking a break this year. I've done frog watch every year since 2016 and at this point, I've nothing new to add, I'd just be making the exact same videos as previous years.
      I'll take a break this year and hopefully bring it back in the future when I have something new and fresh to add.

      @@GregsWildlife Hmm, maybe instead of using the old format it would be better to try to make one long video instead. Nowadays videos like "I ran the aquarium for x days and this happened" etc. are very popular. Maybe you should try it out some day?
      "Half a year ago I've made tadpole aquarium... now it is totally different!/ I built tadpole tank and simulated their metamorphosis!"

      That is an interesting idea. Definitely worth thinking about. It would need planning out more than I usually do, haha!

    Hi Gregg, can I ask a tadpole question?. How soon after back legs do the front legs appear?. I've 7 tadpoles in a tank inside. TIA

    • @GregsWildlife
      @GregsWildlife  Год назад +1

      It's normally quite quick, no more than a couple of weeks normally.

      @Pegasus-lb7qf Год назад

      @@GregsWildlife OK thank you. They've had back legs for a week & are definitely more "froggy" looking but are only just over 6 weeks hatched so seemed too young. Guess they'll be heading back to the pond sooner than later. Thank you.

    • @GregsWildlife
      @GregsWildlife  Год назад +1

      Tadpoles will develop much faster when kept in a tank than in a pond. So if you're looking up information on how long tadpoles take to develop on the internet, you'll probably find yours will develop a lot quicker. This is perfectly normal, there's a whole load of reasons why this happens, but it's nothing to worry about.

      @@GregsWildlife thank you for the reassurance, you're a star ⭐️ I'll be sad to see them go but glad to have witnessed their transformation. 🤩

      @@GregsWildlife hi again, I hope you don't mind another query🙂. 5 of the 7 tadpoles have front legs too since Monday. They still have long tails, seem in good shape although very small. I have set up a grow on tank, (substrate, gravel shore & a small amount of water, rocks). They still seem to prefer being in the very shallow water part although easy for them to get on land. I've got fruit flies for them as no aphids around but if they still have tails even after 4 days do I not feed them yet?. They are 7 weeks hatched tomorrow. Thank you.
