Honestly, I would love a Batman by Denny O'Neil Omnibus someday. I don't care that it'll overlap with the Neal Adams Omni, because I'd hope they use the original inks and colors. Even though I'm mostly a Post-Crisis DC guy like you, Omar, I do really like a lot of Bronze Age Batman stuff too.
@@ellesse3862 I'm just shocked that we got Five Years Later in omnibus format before any of the Bronze Age stuff. I wish I knew who made decisions at that company.
Batman By Doug Moench and Kelly Jones Omnibus: Batman 515-519, 521-525,527-532, 535, 536-552,555.. Batman Red Rain Batman Bloodstorm Batman Crimson Mist Batman Haunted Gotham Batman Jokers Wild
#1 is Batman : The Bronze Age omnibus collection vol 1 !!! Classic tales by Denny O'Neil, Archie Goodwin, Frank Robbins, Jim Aparo and the original colors for Neal Adams' art. Bring it, DC! :D
"Dear DC, I would but Omar's mapping of Batman: The Caped Crusader omnibus if it was in print. Thanks!" is what I would say to the folks at DC!! Thanks for this video, Omar!!! Today is my birthday, and this video brought me happiness! I hardly smile, so I guess I have THAT in common with Batman. LOL!
Hoping DC does a Batman Bronze Age series of omnis. Batman by Doug Moench, Gene Colon and Don Newton, with the Batman/Detective run of the mid-eighties. I would want an omni of the prior Gerry Conway run, but this has already been collected in the three issue Tales of the Dark Knight hardcovers.
Batman by Breyfogle is a Batman omni that I want most. After that, would love a Robin by Dixon omni. This would be incredible with art by Lyle and Grumet.
The post crisis batman is 100 % my most wanted omni from both DC and Marvel , the paperbacks are going for ridiculous prices on ebay around 150$ each minimum .
It's insane they haven't made some of these recommendations. The top 3 should be a must! I would also like to see a Doug Moench and Kelley Jones Omni , as another comment mentioned it.
Yes 100% on post crisis batman its the only reason I've been keeping up with the DKD and CC paperbacks but would love them in Omni format. Same with Nightwing, BW Murdurer, Dixon BoP and Rucka/BkV Bat.
The five that make the most sense to me is: 1. Batman by tom king. I feel like with the most recent detective comics omnibus they’re setting up for it. 2. Batman contagion. It feels weird that you need to trade hunt just to read three massive omnis they just released. Like a road to no man’s land vol one and two would have made more sense but whatever. 3. Batman murderer/fugitive. Makes sense as a precursor to Hush. 4. Batman war games. Have the thick trades and war drums it practically writes itself. 5. Batman by brubaker and Ruka seems a touch odd that many of these stories have fallen out of print but are such vital stories to other issues that dc is hellbent on staying available. Hell it’d even make a decent road to road to hush lmao. Especially since dc seems very obsessed with the Hush story.
I guess that would just be the combined contents of their Tales Of The Batman books, right? Just slap those together and there is an omnibus! Although, I have those 2 books already so I might pass on on omni of that material.
@@fm1668 Yeah. I wish DC could reprint those or release Omnis of the Bronze Age. It feels like they are long overdue. Maybe they will release these runs in their new DC Finest thick tpb line? They really should.
OMAR. Batman By Doug Moench and Kelly Jones Omnibus: Batman 515-519, 521-525,527-532, 535, 536-552,555.. Batman Red Rain Batman Bloodstorm Batman Crimson Mist Batman Haunted Gotham Batman Jokers Wild I think that’s most of it, DC doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to give us the Absolute Batman Vampire trilogy in Absolute. So maybe an omnibus would do.
Recently started collecting comics via Omnibus mainly, *Knightfall* is the story that's attracted me most. Thankfully picked up the recent *Knightfall Vol 1* last week so hopeful of the reprints for *Vol 2* & *Vol 3* 🤞 Loving the content btw, helping me learn what collections and stories exist 😎
That's an impressive list. Love these videos. Your excitement is infectious. For me: 1. Batman By Tom King, 2. Batman Earth One, 3. Nightwing By Tom Taylor, 4. Batman By James Tynion, 5. Batman War Games. Birds Of Prey By Gail Simone and Batgirl Stephanie Brown would be really tempting. Take care and peace everyone.
Great video! I would love a BOP & Nightwing by Chuck Dixon omni. I really would love to read these stories for the first time in an oversized format. Also, your top 10 gallery & top 10 absolute editions would be must watch videos.
8:40 YEEEESSSS, I want that run in omnibus format too. That one and Tom Taylor's run (I know it's too son but he's making an incredible job with Nightwing).
Cheers for putting the Kate Spencer Manhunter series on here, that is such a good series. Honestly, I wish they'd collect the old Ostrander Manhunter series as well with Mark Shaw.
Not an omni but i would love to get Absolute Batman by Matt Wagner including Batman and the mad monk + Batman and the monster men. Not my favorite batman storys but the art is incredible in these.
Great list Uncanny Omar! I would suggest a Batman legends of the dark omnibus that would collect that series from start to finish, this would probably take 3-4 omnis but it would be worth it. Also an omnibus that would only collect the missing Batman and detective comics issues starting after knightsend/prodigal/troika. I know this would be unlikely because of all of the jumping around but there are so many issues of Batman and detective comics from the modern era that have never been collected in any format other than single issue.
Great list. Would love to see the Taylor, Legacy, and Brubaker/Rucka omnis. Not the biggest fan of the Rebirth era Batman either, but i think we do need those stories onmni'd.
Hey how about Batman Legends of the Dark knight. With Shaman, gothic and all those mini story's Venom that was a good one too. And have it with 4 covers different colors like the 1st issue
Yeah a Legends vol 1 would be high up for me. I also think that a for this one specifically, a deluxe edition box set could also be cool bc Shaman, Gothic, Prey, Venom are all relatively standalone from each other
Not in any specific order: 1. Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth Omnibus; 2.Batgirl: Stephanie Brown Omnibus; 3.Birds of Prey Omnibus by Gail Simone but I wouldn't mind collecting the whole series; 4. Catwoman by Jim Balent (Omar, I'm disappointed that this isn't on your list); 5. New 52 The Dark Knight art by EVS and Finch. i don't need any other Batman if I got this.
Definitely want the Kate Spencer Manhunter omni. (I'd settle for a Compendium if -- IF -- DC would make compendiums oversized like omnis and deluxe editions. I also want bronze age Batman.
Is it just me, or is Jonah Hex introducing Omar's top 10 most wanted videos ? :D ps. Caped Crusader omni, Contagion and some of the bronze age era eg. Denny O'Neil would be my top wants.
chuck dixon's nightwing, robin, and birds of prey. i am in with the stephanie brown but that would be a small omni. i'd also get the gail simone birds of prey. how much research do you for these videos toknow all those issues?
Totally would love 2 Cassandra Cain Omnibusses. Never had the chance to read her run, only parts of it. I love this character. How good is her run readable? I mean with all these crossovers she is part of?
Nice list Omar, my top pick for a Batman omni wishlist item is now Batman & Robin Adventures to follow the recent Batman Adventures omni - it could easily be a done in one (B&RA 1-25, Annual 1-2, Sub-Zero movie adaption, Lost Years 1-6 and maybe if they could include it "Dark Claw Adventures #1")
I 100% need Gail Simone’s Birds of Prey, Cass Batgirl, and Steph Batgirl I haven’t read Chuck Dixon’s Robin or Nightwing stuff so that would be nice to have. I said it on the other dc most wanted though, I’m not ready for Black Canary almost marrying Ra’s Al Ghul in oversized format so I could wait on Dixons BoP
Kate Spencer: Manhunter! This not being collected in its entirety is a travesty and possibly a hate crime. 😋 And I need the Batman Vampire Trilogy in a nice deluxe edition.
Green Lantern is a problem for them given the writer. Yes, issues w He's written are being included in in JLI vol 3 (as well as in volume 1 and 2) but he's only a part of that omnibus and his name inst the only one on it, like it would be for GL. As much as I want GL I just don't think it's going to happen, to the point where I'm collecting the single issues and will have them custom bound.
The Batman Omnis that I'd like to have is a post-CIE Omnis. You know, the stuff from the "Dark Knight Detective" and "Caped Crusader" TPBs + Year One, Year 2, A Death in the Family and everything DC published separatley from those TPBs. Another Omni I'd like is a Robin (Tim Drake) Omni collecting the 3 mini series and the Chuck Dixon run.
And that's probably due to me just not being as familiar with certain characters. My first exposure to Stephanie was War Games for example...not too good.
I’ve just gotten into war games thanks to Catwoman of East End so I would love that in omnibus. I’m enjoying that era of Batman having never read it before so it would be great to have the fillers between no man’s land until war games as well. I’ve already pre-ordered Hush. Anything with Casandra Cain and Stephanie Brown in I’d preorder instantly!
That Rucka/Brubaker one (aka "New Gotham") should definitely contain _Batman/Huntress: Cry For Blood_ #1-6. Personally, I'd push it through their work during "Bruce Wayne: Murderer?/Fugitive" (which weren't really proper crossovers, despite how they were branded, so I'd prefer Rucka and Brubaker's stuff here rather than in a separate event omnibus), and beyond (I believe some of Brubaker's short _Detective Comics_ run after Rucka left is still uncollected in any form). So, _Batman: Turning Points_ #1-5, _Detective Comics_ #742-775, #777-782, #784-786, _Batman_ #582-607, _Batman/Huntress: Cry For Blood_ #1-6, the other chapters of "Officer Down" ( _Robin_ #86, _Birds of Prey_ #27, _Catwoman_ #90, _Nightwing_ #53, _Gotham Knights_ #13), _Superman_ #168, _Batman: Our Worlds at War_ #1, _Batman: The 10¢ Adventure_ #1, _Batman: The Man Who Laughs_ #1, and _Batman: Death and the Maidens_ #1-9 (plus the prelude from _Detective Comics_ #783). I think that's 89 issues, so should split nicely across two reasonably-sized volumes.
Batman by Frank Miller Omnibus! Including: Batman #404-407 (Year One storyline), Dark Knight Returns series (and all sequel and prequel series and One-Shots), All Star Batman & Robin the Boy Wonder series (which will hopefully be continued).
That's a very good collection. I wish they'd print the remaining of the Birds of Prey series. There are three Dixon tpbs then a huge hole until Simone's run. There's also one volume yet to be published around the end. And my wildest dream would be for DC to reprint the entire run of Catwoman by Jim Balent. They stopped after only two tpbs.
