      Thanks! at first I wanted to stay closer to the original vitric forge. But after some consideration, The red rock assets being a problem, I decided to make a more ''industrial vibe'' since HPG is somewhat of a success (the central area).
      This map will be, imo, a good map for brawling! :D

    I love this format for the Dev Logs! Great way to share info about what is going on and to put faces to the names we hear for the folks working to improve the game we enjoy! And yes, Francios should cosplay Captain Price every halloween

    Crusaders are awesome mechs and that new map looks great. I would love an option to select double firing UACs (effectively reducing the normal cooldown by half) when leaving the firing button depressed, which would allow non-macro users to more easily gain the benefit of UACs. Thanks for continuing to work on and improve the game y'all.

      I say this for a long time now - create more maps from existing assets - just like you suggest, same can be done with different maps, usually it could go like this - industrial area, transition area, wilderness area. And when we have multiple maps made from existing assets (less work) we can use that in faction warfare for representing planets we fight for.

      ​@@GarranTana I'd love to. However with this comes the problem with the collisions (the red rocks) and its finnicky, so until we have a full on board Level Artist, I'd rather focus my attentions on the best parts of the game and those that do not require much attention from an LA.
      Personnally, I'd love to make an ''underwater map''. That could be faked by using volumetric colored fog + a HIGHLY DENSE fog layer that act as a ''water surface''.

      @@GarranTana It wouldnt be technically an underwater map. What I am aiming at is a look that ressembles Coral Highlands from Monster Hunter World.

    Please Francois, stop making bowls. I know they hold soup, but I keep getting lost in the sauce from the depth of them. Please give us a dome map. I want some dome so bad. Please... I need this.

      Working on it!
      This map wont feel like a bowl I can promise you that. It'll feel more like 4 smaller arenas inside of a giant one.
      Also the sides of the maps will be blocked by invisible walls, so '''bowl edges'' arent available for snipers.
      Essentially I'm making a brawler centric map :)

      I have a suggestion. Mech elevators.... Instead of walking up ramps, maybe add some interactable features like I just mentioned to the maps? Would be pretty neat if possible.

      @@lenoobpwner out of bounds areas in the newest map are a little less obvious and in my opinion slightly to restricting when it comes to the ridges, yesterday I accidentally killed myself in a locust just evading an enemy on the ridge, which was a bit suprising and sad.

    The new map looks awesome! I think maps that you can use the hole map for different play styles is making the game fresher! You may have to start new advertising campaign. i was a big MW fan but i didn't know about MWO tell late 2019 on RUclips lol

    There’s still no actual Mech Warriors in this game yet, is there? And by that I mean the pilots like in an actual RPG.

    Maybe it's worth fixing graphic bugs on the cards corrupted by Francois? You have rocks and trees hanging in the air in places. Water that is, then not (Canyons). There are shadows from mech's, but there are no shadows from hills.

    Can we get new maps (or any other content) hosted on the test server before official release, please?
    With the cockpit, you could add an arc of slight gloss or other light play that only appears under certain lighting. eg a gloss or distortion that shows when bright light hits at an oblique angle (ie not when a pilot is already looking into a bright source).

    Please consider a straight brawl map. One of the fun parts of quickplay is the paper, rock, scissors aspect of game play. Making so many sniper / comp style maps negates much of the paper, rock, scissors aspect. Even a 4 man SHOULD worry that they have the wrong selection of mechs.

    One way to reduce the quad-guass meta would be to force all equipped gauss to share the same cooldown. So when you fire 2 of the guass, they would be tandomly tied to the cooldown of the other two gauss, so if you fire two of them, the other two would then go on cool-down with those two, so that there would be a forced cooldown timer so that you couldn't just quick-click your secondary two gauss immediately after the first two.

      Where are you seeing quad gauss? I've only seen them on kodiaks and annihilators and even then they're not all that common

      Ive never seen a quad gauss meta literally ever since the Clanners first dropped. The quad gauss Daishi was nerfed basically straight away in that you can only shoot 2 Gauss at a time (from what I remember their justification for it besides balance is something something charging up those gauss would take up a lot of power)

      Gauss rifles already have a 2 fire limit anyway. Quad gauss is not that effective based on what limits already set in game. It does not need further nerfs.

    Okay...
    Maps: Can you adjust the color palette on Caustic Valley? It's mostly a water color blur if you have even mild color vision issues.
    HPG Manifold, can you put the 'Classic HPG' back in rotation with the new version? I know some love the new one but many don't as well and no one who opposes reinserting the classic version has been able to answer a simple question.
    What is the harm in having both available?
    Gameplay: This one is vitriolic and divisive for some but... Machine Guns. These things in MWO are absurd. a machine gun that neither generates heat nor has any potential to jam whatsoever violates all laws of physics. Out of curiosity I did a simple test with HMGs and Med Lasers, same map same conditions.
    6 HMG, Heat 2/2, Range 40 meters, target fresh Atlas CT. Time to destruction = 20.72 seconds no overheat.
    6 Med. Lasers, Heat 2/2, Range 40 meters, target fresh Atlas CT. Time to destruction = 22.52 no overheat.
    6 Med. Lasers, Heat 1.45/2, Range 40 meters, target fresh Atlas CT. Time to destruction = 24.05 One overheat.
    Six HMG are more destructive than six medium lasers and while the medium lasers suffer DPS loss and shut down risks due to heat at less than a perfect 2/2 heat management machine guns never do.
    Nor do they jam, ever. This is rather ridiculous, as with any autofeeding ballistic weapon there should be at least some chance of jamming and some heat build up even if only in a minor way.

      In regards to New Caustic, my plans are to remove the fog, adjust the lighthing and add A LOT more cover in the center. Cover like the ''plateaus'' in viridian bog comes to mind. I know it wasnt a great success, but we all learn from our mistakes, but let me assure you that I take at heart the enjoyment of players and I love caustic. So yes! As soon as I can I will be fixing this :)! Just hold on :D!!!

      Yes MG's are good but also keep in mind those mgs have less range, and more spread than Medium lasers, they require a hell of a lot more face time to dps down someone who is moving and splashing the hits on all their components and and they suck ammo like crazy when you have a rof quirk or more than 4. meanwhile lasers dont have any of those issues...you have to consider most people with lasers are poking and like 14 out of those 22.05 seconds are going to be spent hiding waiting on laser cd rather than being or about to be in the line of fire as with machine guns.

      @@ix8750 Each weapon has it's issues, much like the MG lasers splash with target and aggressor movement.
      My testing was to do a baseline comparison of damage vs time to destruction.
      On a basic scale the testing shows that a mech with 6 MGs needs 2 seconds less face time to destroy the fresh CT of an Atlas. Unlike missiles or LB/ACs lasers require the shooter to hold target until the burn finishes to do damage.
      For the most part, and in all of this there are exception to just about everything so nothing is an absolute, if a mech can run more than 4-5 mgs it usually has ammo quirks to address the rapid use of ammo.
      Just for fun after testing:
      4 c-mg, ammo quirk and +25 ROF quirk firing continuously.
      With 1 ton of ammo (1/4 ton per mg) = 48.79 seconds to depletion.
      With 2 tons of ammo (1/2 ton per mg) = 1:36.55 to depletion.
      With a more realistic load out of 3 tons (3/4 ton per mg) = 2:24.55 to depletion.
      No one fires for the entire match so this is a 4 ton weapon system doing more damage than a 6 ton array of lasers with zero heat and zero jam chance.
