    This was the only useful visualization that I could find that shows how the internal mechanisms of an air brake brake chamber work during use.

    Dammmmn. I have been struggling understanding this damn service-spring brake chamber stuff and this video just nail it. Excellent work!

    These are the best but at a cost. Well worth the price if you've ever had to cage a chamber with a broken or out of align cage socket.

    Thank you for posting this. I now understand how the internal working of a brake canister occur. I was not sure what was connected to what to know how you get 2 separate operations out of it. The only thing I would change is the title of the video. It mentions nothing of what the animation is of.Thanks!

    Soo..when the parking brake is applied, air pressure is released and the spring pressure from the spring in the parking brake chamber forces the rod out and turns the S cam to force the brake shoes out against the brake drum. But what exactly forces the rod out out of the service air chamber (not the parking brake air chamber) when the brakes are applied?

    Thank you for the show. But I want to ask, When the parking break is active, why is the spring and membrane service brake squeezed? Even though there is no incoming air pressure

    • @Puckgrinder85
      @Puckgrinder85 4 года назад

      Because there is a heavy spring that applies the parking brake. Air is used to release the parking brake.
