    I live in Antioch. Renting out my current home and getting a bigger home for cheaper in Clarksville. I work from home so no problem. Homes are over 100k cheaper than where I live if you would pick it up and drop it here in Antioch

    Ive lived there about 15 years in the late 90s thru early 2000s. I enjoyed it. Worked at a shoppette on Ft. Campbell for a while.
    41A is a nightmare to drive.
    Blackhorse Brewery was by far one of my favorite restaurants there.

      Thanks for the response Wayne! We couldn't agree more, Blackhorse Brewery is a gem!

      I was at the Blackhorse 2-3 times a week. The Vanilla Cream Ale was one of my favorites. Some of my fathers Ashes are in the POW-MIA memorial in the park up near Ft. Campbell. He was a Vietnam Vet. I miss going to all the places around Clarksville, like Ft. Donaldson and La d Between the Lakes.

    Clarksville’s land and homes are rising fast because of the people moving here. Traffic is horrendous, they are not expanding roads, very little and slow if at all. Clarksville is mostly a military town, not a whole lot of major stores and things to do. There are some highlights about this town some of the history, some of the new small owned businesses but a lot of things need to change and improve.

    I lived near LA and my sister's fam moved to Cunningham in 2013. Her husband was in the Marines and another couple they clicked with on base in CA the friends husband had fam in Clarksville.
    Long story short both families moved here after they got out, my sister doesn't talk to the other couple anymore but my woman and I would fly out to visit every year
    We liked it more and more and decided to come out in 2021 and I'm mostly happy here. Live on the South side of the river in the "country" but at the time of moving didn't realize ot was a military town from previous visits.
    Woulda preferred moving to Dickson or even Springfield but I have met a shit ton of other Californians and I have to say we are mostly like minded and moved for a reason. Politically im more aligned, I can shoot my firerams in my backyard, ride my atvs and actually have some property.
    I love living across the river and honestly glad my sister put me on game when looking for houses out here that were nice but in the city etc.. she knew what I was looking for and one of her homegirls was moving back to MT and luckily I was a cash buyer and got the house across the river when there weren't many.
    I have noticed even being here 3 years that it's like every spot than have a little track home sun division is getting built and while I could be considered part of the problem as an out of stater I do kinda feel like housing is going nuts..
    I could likely sell my house I have now for $330k easily when I bought it for $250k with 1.6 acres.
    The woman that sold it was cool and said if i shoot her a cash offer she wouldn't put it on the market etc.. she didn't Wana hassle with escrow etc so I guess I got a good deal but back then the house im in was pushing $275k..

    Clarksville should consider a freeway loop around the city I 424

    • @wheretolivenashville
      @wheretolivenashville  3 месяца назад +1

      You are 100% spot on with that statement! Nashville has two loops around the city. 440 and 840 and both have been great for good the area. Clarksville should consider this as well.

      Be careful what you wish for. My few years in Clarksville I've noticed lots of shit drivers. Either everyone rides your bumper or pull out at the wrong time in busy traffic.
      Also Clarksville drivers when you're turning left on a green yield light don't be afraid to fucking pull put to the middle of the intersection as you wait to turn.
      You don't have to camp behind the limit line, miss the yield light and wait for a solid green...
      Ohh yah the middle turn/merge lanes aren't your personal fucking turn lanes to travel 200ft to get to the turning lane when there are multiple driveways that the lane was designated for.. stop driving like assholes 😂

    Clarksville is a military town and like most military towns there isn’t a whole lot to do unless you drive to a larger city. We’ve been stationed at Fort Hood Texas and when people complain about traffic I have to think they’ve never been anywhere else because it could be a lot worse. Try driving here in Texas where if the speed limit is 80 on the highway (literally) then people are going 90-100+ and cutting you off left and right. You don’t know scared until you’re up on an overpass in Dallas about 7 floors high going 80+. 😅 I’ll take the calm and quietness of Clarksville anyday.

      Visit the Museum in downtown Clarksville. Heard strawberry ally is not too bad. The Downtown Commons normally host events around 7:30 at night. Be sure to check out Clarksville Collection on Franklin street before you leave. It’s the summer time so it’s definitely a lot nicer and warmer. So downtown is where you mostly want to hang out.

    isn't Clarksville the fourth largest City in TN?

    • @wheretolivenashville
      @wheretolivenashville  3 месяца назад +2

      Chattanooga is the 4th largest. Clarksville is the 5th. Keep an eye out on Murfreesboro and Cookeville. They are growing fast too.

    • @dexter_johnson
      @dexter_johnson Месяц назад

      @@wheretolivenashville For 2024 stats, Clarksville is under 1000 residents away from passing Chatt. Cookeville, while growing, only has around 35-40k residents.
      Meanwhile, the city is expanding with more things to do, great restaurants without thinking it's too big for it's own britches. For me, the land in Nashville proper simply wasn't worth it, with the same home in both places could have a $100k or more difference. Lot of great things about the city for sure.

  • @Mixwell1983

    Another thing I dislike about Clarksville is the downtown area and the flock of hipster's flocking.
    I worked at Strawberry Alley as a prep cook and the line cook and the whole "local brewery" hometown bullshit is overplayed. Seen this soo many times in LA and I guess I'm just hating but you don't need murals with a fuckin hastag to your Instagram shit, overpriced boutique stores, it's already been done to death and the douchebag normies give off Hollywood Euro trash type vibes of influencers who are broke so they try to hype up the town. Hah I finished the video and saw dude recommend Strawbery Alley (ale works) ill forgive the blunder because honestly as a chef/prep cook/line cook i have to give props for all the people that worked and work there as prep cooks/line cooks. The food is genuinely good, the fries are made fresh (i hand plunged them through the fry cutter) Just don't ask about Mother's Day 2022, we ran outta potatoes for the frys, chips for the nachos, salmon and i think steak. That was like my last day and the new kitchen manager fucked up the whole order of what we needed. Haven't worked in a lot of restaurants but I remember that night we closed at 8 instead of 10. That shit was all bad.. but for real the bacon mac cheese, shrimp and grits, chicken piccata and shrimp bowl were all my sautee station.. it's a mother fucker at dinner service but the rush was real....The authenticity of a small downtown seems gone and it's just people trying to turn what is a cool little downtown trying to turn it into something bigger. Hell it's Clarksville, you ask anyone who isnt from TN they won't be WOWed when you're coming from a big city....
    I bet downtown Clarksville in the 90s had a lot more authenticity but now it's a hot hub for people to snap photos in front of and post their sub par pictures of their dishes online. Again BRO it's Clarksville, take that shit to Nashville or wherever the fuck you came from.😂

    I wish they would make a bridge that ran somewhere between hwy 149 that shot straight over to dover road/ft campbell bl...
    Out in Cali you had multiple detour routes if needed but out here man it's like you have 4 main roads of you wana get anywere and thats Riverside,Wilma, Madison and Ft Campbell Bl
    PS can we get some better fast food service on Riverside? These places have like 3 cars and are slow as hell, asking you to pull up to the next window or park in a curbside spot.
    I never seen shit like that in Cali, you order at the box and your food was ready to go. I know it's a different demographic of workers (in CA it was mostly non teen Hispanics workers) vs lazy teens and early 20s but ever fast food spot acts like you're inconveniencing them when you order food.. I guess we can't have it all right ?😂😂
