I used to live at the Legends when I worked for Cerner which is now Oracle Cerner. It was a fun area to live if you are in an apartment. I can't say enough good about Shawnee, great schools, great location and one the greatest parks in Kansas city period! I haven't seen too many new developments there but it needs to happen. New builds will prob start at 650k upwards its that kind of prime real estate. Tid bit the best coffee shop near shawnee is in baeshor called third space coffee. This place is by far the greatest coffee shop in Johnson County, the others that get talked up are over populated. Third space serves its local community and a few outsiders but isn't over populated!
We’ve been in Western Shawnee, KS for about 27 years. Great neighborhood and neighbors in Lakepointe community, surrounded by Clear Creek Elementary, Monticello Middle School, and Mill Valley Highschool, all apart of the Desoto 232 school district. Great homes and pretty large lots of varied sizes.
Thanks for the videos! so helpful. I do have a question, there are so many rivers in the area, but I never see anyone paddle boarding or kayaking. Is this allowed?
Great question! Depending on the area, yes. Shawnee Mission Park is very popular for paddle boarding and kayaking. They even have rentals on site. Another good one a bit further south would be Lake Olathe.
