Awesome job! What an adventure to say the least. Question regarding the brake upgrade with larger calipers: It looks as though if a tire goes flat, the tire could 1) hit the side of the caliper, 2) the caliper will then be lower than the wheel and potentially hit the ground. Perhaps the original caliper was mounted that low and would pose the same issues? And of course this is only based on seeing what is in your videos, but wanted to ask and bring to your attention if potential issue.

I hadn’t given that any thought, but there is almost always a cost somehow to making upgrades, even if it’s just time or cost. I looked at my pictures but don’t have a good angle to really tell if there’s an issue. I will take a look when I get off work.

It’s been fun watching your videos in tandem with my build. Do you mind sharing what firewall insulation you used?

I did a video about it if you look at my channel. I’ll have to look it up and pass along specifics later. I have mixed views on it, it looks great and I think it is probably very good for fire and heat shielding. The issues are it is expensive and hard to install as it leaves sharp edges where you cut it.

I really appreciate your videos. I will be starting my own tsi build this summer. Where is a good place to do research on the nice upgrades that you mention? Is there a sling forum?

The dominant source of information seems to be on Facebook these days with two groups: Sling Builders and Sling Enthusiast. There is also a more traditional forum slingpilots.com run by another builder.
