When I was like 8 I used to play with my brother and imagine I was a Mario character while he was a Pokémon, we called it Mario and Pokémon Galaxy since we loved both of the games respectively. I would love this as a kid!
Believe you me this is probably one of the coolest and most creative things I've ever seen And wow for once when you go through the tall grass you don't encounter some type of rattata or bird pokemon.

This mod is incredible! Watching Mario crawl through the caves, slide down the rock walls, and float up the waterfalls was an amazing sight. Although, I have to admit I’m a bit salty about how easily Mario can jump over all of the rocks, trees, ledges, and fences that were such a hindrance to me playing through this game as a child. Amazing video, nonetheless!
Galaxy 2 is easier to mod and has contents from both 2 and 1 (as a lot of 1s contents are in the games file but unused). So generally all the mods come from SMG2 for the convenience

@@xettabyte4162 You might be thinking of Gen 1, where this was the case. In Gen 2 they fixed it and now Mario can learn surf via both level up and HM. Just another one of Gen 1’s weird quirks.

what is this reply section. mario cannot learn surf in gen 1 by hm he needs to be level 40. in gen 2 it was brought down to level 36 and you still can't use hm. this was added in gen 3. in gen 3 you can use an hm on him. in sinnoh, they brought it down to level 32 and when unova was introduced they took it up to 36.
Finally found a comment saying this. I mean, they did an outstanding job making this map, but the absence of Snowpoint City and the snowy routes really did hit me...

This has so much untapped potential. You could have it where the main map serves as the overworld and then you could do "Pokémon Battles" (fight a room with certain enemies) at important points like gyms or routes, then spend coins at the PokéMart for power-ups to put in your bag (like Mario 3). Internet get to it!

Seeing everything run at 60fps and super high resolution made me realize that this is all I really want out of a GEN 4 remake. I equate the new Pokemon art style to that of the NSMB series. So if they went WAYYYYY back for this then I'd be super stoked.
I like how Mario bows in respect (I think) in front of the Dialga statue and Spiritombs grave......and then bows in front of the Game Corner. :p Also I feel like I never noticed there was a Munchlax shaped rock in Sunyshore....(maybe I just forgot)

The way you meticulously avoid touching any trees or buildings makes me feel like nothing really has collision except the ground and water.
If so, it's one of the most impressive overviews I've seen. Imagine if at the 16 minute mark you went trough a rock and had to redo the whole thing...

He used the HM, obviously. Sure, he doesn’t naturally learn it till 36 but he can learn it via the HM just fine
