Indeed, his range is fckng mental, but usually he sings in his comfort zone like most baritones.

Corey is the man who has ruined me for about 95% of vocalists out there and I haven't spend a second of my life in regret about that ever since I first listened to him sing about 10 years ago.

The raspiness, aggression & the voice crack during this song reminds me very much of the IOWA era. Coreys voice was on fire during this entire set.
1 of the greatest voices in the entire history of music. I will make sure that even my great grand children will know about this musical genius. What an absolute beast of a vocalist. With a vocal range of 5 1/2 octaves.

@@humanguy1643 Yes. But you should also check out the demo tapes of Stone Sour. For example "I cant believe". He even used to be able to go higher in his early 20s. The virsatility of his voice is what makes him a total genius & badass.
Most metal vocalists are either good at screaming or clean vocals. But there arent too many that have mastered both aspects of vocals in such a majestic & professional manner IMO.
Even though Im not gay, I wouldnt object to Corey Taylor singing me to sleep with a lullaby & then kissing me on the cheek after Im deep in dreamland. LOL

Sadly, none of his live accoustic stuff is. It's an absolute travesty, because as much as I love the full on electric, headbanging, craziness of the original SK and SS versions of songs, this is my favorite version of CMFT. That man's voice and an accosutic guitar (or two) is all you need.

I recorded the audio from the entire show and split each song into its own wav file. I then used audacity to adjust the audio a bit and turned them all into MP3’s that I could upload to Spotify on my computer and saved the playlist so it would download on my phone. Now I can listen to them anywhere.

Death Blow I’ve been praying for this to make it to a physical form of some kind. But I don’t think it’s gonna happen, and my only guess is because he did so many covers throughout its too much to get the approval to distribute under just his name or whatever. This man. The lyrics are poems, the voice is like an angel, the music is gold. Music is my escape. I can feel the music in my soul when I listen to Stone Sour. The lyrics speak to me. His voice soothes me. I can't say enough.

I think that this song shows what a great songwriter Corey actually is. Most of the time guitars aren't doing anything special, but melody of the lyrics are carrying the song, and then performing it with such voice and talent is beyond amazing.

@@Thunterise oops, who did? But anyways I assume he wrote and puzzled in the lyrics. And I still stand with the opinion that many of their songs have interesting lyric melody that carries the song, or makes it stand out.
@@shimkeee Corey Taylor also generally doesn't really help in the writing of slipknot songs. They mentioned that after his song Snuff, which was one of the very few songs that was written by him. Also one of their best songs, so that's good.

I like this Corey Taylor song more than any other of his songs - including his music with Slipknot and Stonesour. I love how exposed and raw his vocals are, instead of the listener being caught up in the heavy bass or drum or guitar riff. It's just basic guitar and Corey fucking Taylor. It's amazing, it's raw, and it's real.
