Just lost my dad yesterday. Unexpected, painful. The funeral will be in a few hours. Have to be the bigger man now, take his role and take care of the house and my little sister. Just the 2 of us now.
This song will help to deal with the grieving process and will forever be meant to my father as it is to all your loved ones who passed. It’s a beautiful thing how a stranger’s work can help us cheat reality for a few minutes and then, in a way, bring us some peace.
Thank you dad, for the honourable and genuinely good hearted man you were all your life. Thank you for everything. You will be missed. Love you ❤️

My son died from a heart attack as a consequence of alcoholism in March this year. A talented musician who could play any instrument he chose. Extremely rounded intellectually, artistically, a sensitive tap dancer.
He was undiagnosed on the autism spectrum so self medicated to control dealing with the world.
Ed Sheeran reminds me of my son in so many ways. My heart breaks when I hear this song.

Ed just keeps coming back every couple of years and reminding us why he's as successful as he is. He gets a lot of hate because he's played a lot, but he's worked so bloody hard to get to that point. His level of professionalism and songwriting and performing ability is streets ahead of most of the other acts in the charts.

He has been quoted as saying he wants to sell as many records as possible so he churns out crap pop songs to achieve that!!
