He realized how the crowd loved him, and he rolled with it. Mel Brooks is amazing
Great crowd to give him thar push 👏
He's got so much energy, my money's on him hitting the big 100.
valar i pray to god
how about 110
Amen to that.
Yeah true but I saw him on something here on RUclips...
I don't know if it was part of the Jerry Seinfeld Comedians in Cars or what... but he was sitting on the chair next to Carl Reiner in his house and I have to admit that I was surprised at how much older much more fragile he was.. finally really showing his age but he still had a great attitude and was sharp as a tack .
Couldn’t get older than a hundred ‘n’ fourteeen!
I like how his voice has aged so well - it's ALWAYS been rough and raspy!
Blazing Saddles is the funniest movie ever written. Every single thing still holds up in that movie. My favorite flick of all time. I've damn near memorized it, but it still kills me.
That and Young Frankenstein are pretty much at the top.
No, The Producers.
Love the campfire scene and the KKK in the line up
+Robin Hagan I love the scene where the woman apologizes to Clevon Little's character after what she called him the day before.
I will watch this movie with my two grown sons and we turn down the sound and play the parts of the actors: saying the lines as they are saying them on screen.
Our favorite: the campfire seen and all the farting. That's also my little 5 year old nephew's favorite to inmate as well!
Mel Brooks is my favorite stand up philosopher
a BS artist uh? ;)
@@j0hnn13K Did you BS last week? Did you try to BS?
@@HappyCat3096 "*low grunt" YES!! :P
Such a great scene :D
Mitche23 He gets a laurel & hearty handshake
"you are nuts - N V T S nuts!"
I wrote to Mel Brooks when I was 16 years old from Sunderland England when High Anxiety came out in 1977 not expecting a reply, imagine my surprise about 2 months later I recieved a signed publicity photo of Mel in an officail 20th Century Fox hardboard envelope all the way from Los Angeles with a stamp on saying coming soon "Star Wars" and I still got it 43 years later,Thanks Mel from
Peter Cain in Sunderland England.
I love the energy and enthusiasm he has!
Jesus Christ..this guy is 88 and he's got more energy than me. I'm 19.
Comedy is one hell of a stimulant
+Kawaii Atlas indeed
drugs is the other half,,,,,,
Tony Vega hell yea he's leaping off that couch just hopped up on excitement Just full of life and stories.
It's Jew magic.
Mel Brooks is one of the funniest men to walk this Earth.
I love how Mel takes over the show. He’ll show Jimmy how it’s done.
Mel is my hero , I mean 0 controversies always had the same fun and talented people in his movies and is still to this day funny. I hope he’s happy though as of 2019😄
89 years old and can hardly breathe. Imagine if he could, he´d outlive us all (probably will anyway)
got to respect this man period, plus his son wrote World War Z bonus MEL BROOKS LEGEND
got yah
Ah a bullshit artist
Kawaii Atlas assclown
Piss-for-brains
+Atlas You've got a world-size chip on your shoulder. Let it go ... .
Mel is a genius. Now who'd like to have a stupid fight?
You dummy -- Mel is a SUPER genius!
+rackinfrackin Why I oughta...!
Ahhh, you're ALL a buncha jerks!!!!!
Are you high on pot???:D
omg he is so fucking sharp, good on him
The man is a legend. I will mourn his passing, and I dread its eventuality
Now with Carl gone so do I
I thoughts exactly, we need this mensch very badly.
It will be a sad day went he goes
VDR FDR! Priceless.
RedThebigOneInfantry And he picked it up instantly and turned it arounds, that's a gifted comedian
keep this man safe.. lord
Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are his masterpieces, with the edge going to the latter. Cloris Leachman's exceptional rendering of Frau Blucher is a sublime, awe-inspiring performance so spot on and steady it almost defies logic in its polished perfection. A priceless gem of an unforgettable performance. Pure movie magic of the highest order. Of course, for those of you who haven't seen it, but will now, having read my effusive if not somewhat untethered review of her stunning work in Young Frankenstein, it will be a heartbreaking or at least bitter disappointment. But still....
Up every evening 'bout half eight or nine
I give my complete attention
to a very good friend of mine
He's quadraphonic, he's a,
he's got more channels
So hologramic,
oh my T V C one five
His masterpiece was marrying Anne.
"Sold!" ... I shall see these. Had the character of Frau Blucher not been created, CL might well have portrayed a "Pro Baba" or "Gross Tante" of Frankenstein.
Two words: The Producers.
Every video with Mr. Brooks is a delight.
Always a good story from mel. He never loses his appeal.
He is still alive :D I love him. Spaceballs is the best!.. also Blazing Sadles
ever seen The Producers? not the remake but Mel's original, maybe his best comedy
mrlafayette1964 Agreed. His finest work and one of the funniest, most brilliant screenplays ever written. That's our Hitler!
mrlafayette1964 oh yeah gene wilder killed that part
I've been able to do Lily Von Schtupp since I was twelve...
+Originella It's too bad RUclips doesn't have an audio reply system...I'd love to hear your impersonation!
Man I'd love to go to a classy comedy show like the old days. Dress up in a full suit, and smoke all night. I don't even smoke lol
There are plenty of "Classy" places to go, right now. You can put on a nice modern suit (Which fit beautifully BTW) and go to any club you want...Just leave out the smoking...Unless you mean weed, then that's Ok.
smoke a cigar, cigarette and drink a martini (with an olive in it) - Rat Pack stuff (?); a Dean Martin celebrity roast/the Friar's Club before the "Comedy Central" Roasts with Jeff(rey) Ross.
...and have Bob Hope come on and preempt you so you have to move on the sofa.
Wonderful comedian performer, writer and he married the gorgeous Anne Bancroft to boot. Legend gets bandied about a lot but Mel is a treasure.
High Anxiety is hillarious.
It's my favorite Mel Brooks movie.
The birds sh*tting all over him
There's no Mel Brooks movie that isn't hilarious
I think once you hit a certain age the amount of fucks given starts to exponentially go down - as exhibited in this interview.
nyckid10 I doubt he ever gave much of a fuck.
That's why comedians are legendary
Atlas vr
I don't think Mel had many to begin with.
mel is a blessing
That guy's the best. I never really liked "Mad About You" but I'd watch it if it was one of the episodes where he played Paul Reiser's crazy uncle. He's good enough to make a show I didn't care for not only watchable, but actually really fun.
He won an Emmy for that. Everything he touches he turns to gold. Except his last couple movies, but that's ok.
Brilliant, loving genius. Love you, Mel ⭐💚⭐💚
This guy is as old as the Roman empire and he's still as sharp as a razor! I love you Mel.
2000 year old man
I love how Mel Brooks NEVER lets the interviewer cut him off no matter how hard they try lol
Imagine this guy being your friend 50 years ago ...
I loved mel Brooks and all his movies he had made his so hilarious l'm glad that his in good health
FART Field Artillery Replacement Training. Love it. I've been to Ft Sill and there ain't nothin to do there, still.
God, he is FUNNY!
I met him at an anniversary live screaming of "Young Frankenstein". Awesome experience.
The best, may he live to be 2000 years old!
Love Mel, the man is a genius.
94 now and still going strong, what a guy
He's a national treasure.
Absolutely.
He’s a natural treasure.
What a icon & legend and national treasure.
when he started drumming I lost it
Absolutely fantastic. Truly amazing, both Mel and Jimmy. Truly, a pair of classics at work. I can only imagine what it would be like to interview these guys and actually be able to maintain friendships with so many celebrities. I mean, to be real and personal friends with Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Anniston, Matt Damon, countless others, what an amazing life that Jimmy must truly have.
he's got that kind of voice where it seems like it'd be painful to talk.
Legendary mel brooks...alive and kicking!!!
Mel called out the people in the audience for their... HIGH Anxiety! Ya get it? Ya get it? Knyuck Knyuck Knyuck
Mel....true King of Comedy!!!
He sounds more like Tony Bennett. Hey, still keep it, Mel. The old man has the pipes!
Mel Brooks is the funniest man who has ever lived or who ever will live.
Now-a-days they'd give Mel some Ritalin and we'd never have Young Frankenstein
+Conor Logan No, they'd prescribe a sedagive.
+MF Nickster SEDA-GIVE?!?
+Conor Logan LOL! He is quite bouncy indeed. And that is a good thing. We need a Ritabann :).
+DehnusNorder -- The Soma Truck has been dispatched and will be here any minute. Line up in an orderly fashion for your usual dosage.
DehnusNorder
Someone is already on soma by the sound of it.
Mel Brooks is a friggin' genius
I was wondering where he was!!!! I love Mel Brooks, We just watched Blazing Saddles! So funny!.
He is the best!
Mel is great. He is and always will be great.
Wow, he has a lot of energy for his age. He's thinking so fast his mouth can't keep up.
Mel Brooks is a National treasure.
Mel Brooks still hs his comedy fast-ball, doesn't he?
He has two, last time the doctor checked. ;)
rackinfrackin
Ah, the old jokes are the best, aren't they?
He is so long lived, just like Carl Reiner because of their gift of LAUGHTER!
That singing brings me back to The Inquisition!
It’s funny hearing the piano player for this show tinkering around. “America the Beautiful” is probably something he never heard of.
That spot turned very patriotic for a minute... nice Mel.
,,, Mel - you're a Legend !!!!!
If I have a third of Brooks’ energy when I’m his age I’ll be fine.
His seat is like a trampoline
i was gonna say that: whats's wrong with the poltrone? kkkk
Simply the best comedian on the planet
a lot of energy for an old codger
I'm sure he requested a higher seat
JuicyTaz201 he moved the rear cushion down so he could sit on it
It was more Tony Bennett impression than Frank Sinatra.
"Fort Sill, Oklahoma. If you had a chance, don't go there!" Classic line. Enough to destroy any public relations and promotion for Oklahoma.
An entertainer through and through
I want to be this hyped when I'm his age
love this man & Bancroft
Jimmy can't get a word in
In this case Mels word is the WORD. So Jimmy can just shutup and stare in awe at this mans genius.
silat13 man's*
Apple Lucas LOL get a life.
Posting a one word meaningless post is a worse crime than forgetting an apostrophe.
silat13 Just stating facts. No need to be rude. And just because I am correcting you doesn't mean I don't have life.
Apple Lucas Oh the irony. Your post was grammatically incorrect. Get it?
Mel telling a story about Bill Cullen was so hilarious
His soul shines through though his skin is getting sort of old.
What a genius!
The last of the BEST❤️
Love Mel Brooks!
Mel Brooks is amazing.
Love Mel Brooks
Spaceballs the flamethrower...the kids will love it
Mel would be one the faces on Mount Rushmore if it was all about best comedic talents of all time. Mel could do everything related to comedy- stand up, writing, acting, casting of tv and films, directing tv and film, work with the best talent comedy has produced. He was so well liked by his industry contemporaries that Alfred Hitchcock co-wrote High Anxiety. I didn't know that till I saw Conan's JIb Jab interview with Mel. Jimmy's interview with Mel is really good as well. I think people forget that Mel got his start with Syd Cesar on Your Show Of Shows. So his initial work other than standup was on TV. Then he hooked up with Buck Henry and produced Get Smart. This was a show that was almost too good for TV and I don't say that just because of it's production value.
OMG, look at Jimmy's suit, lol. I love Mel Brook's movies. When Mel said Frank told him just don't do comedy I was remined of when he asked Gene Wilder to do Young Frankenstein and Gene said only if he didn't put himself in the movie.
Absolute genius.
Mel Brooks is the Oracle/Emperor of Comedy bar none......
I love high anxiety. Such a great movie👍🏻
Mel.... had to have that extra cushion.... never lost his ego.
Love Mel Brooks!!
"It is good to be the king . . . of comedy."
An American comic legend..If I were Brooks I wouldn't even spit in Kimmel's direction
Omg he’s still god a great singing voice
MEL IS FANTASTIC
Brooks has more funny in his little finger than 10 Jimmy Kimmels
One more legend in this country.
Old people are like this on the pharmacy line as well.
***** I'm guessing you're the old person that I was referring to. Sorry for being frank, but you need to pick up the pace and stop reminiscing about how it used to be to the pharmacist.
Did my basic training at ft. sill and I agree with him 100%.
Jimmy is way over his head in this one, he got steamrolled!
i still wanna listen to that Hitchcock story...
love Mel.
Genius!!!!
A tru funny and gentle genious:)
Masterpiece.
I actually served at Fort Sill as a Second Lieutenant. Funny.
Just LOVE him!!!
Mel's like, no matter wtf your talking about I'm going to do my thing.
