I think it’s mainly due to the different training system.
Nuo Xu Yeah, I thought about what I wrote and what you say makes more sense. Different cultures encourage and train different sports differently. Also racial genetic factors can play a part. I'm from Norway and we are only 5 million but still superb in skiing. It's in our culture.
Julian I exactly,another example is Serbia,they also have small population but are strong in basketball,volleyball,tennis and football, this is all related to the sports culture

These commentators are SO biased towards the British divers
because they're british commentators commentating for british tv?
I like them actually, they seem fairly fair and are quite funny. The American commentators are way more biased and annoying

I hate that the Chinese thought that silver and bronze was losing. I mean it would be nice to win but it's not like they didn't win because they made a massive error. They did well but the other guy did amazing. 2nd and 3rd at the Olympics is still amazing.

I think this is his requirement for himself. I can't say that the 2nd and 3rd are not good, but everyone has his own goal to pursue. I think it is totally understandable to cry if you don't achieve the desired result
@@brishenwoo I would understand if it was because he had messed up. But he did amazingly too. Just not as amazingly. It wasn't really that he didn't achieve his goal because it was beyond his control that the other guy gave the performance of his life.
Perhaps they take it so hard because of harsh punishments received upon their return to china for not winning
