1st stop blaming farmers! The real issue is people and their personal home yards. Since I was a kid, personal yard fertilizer treatments has grown into a billion dollar industry on it's own. Not only products bought at hardware stores hy homeowners, but also major companies growing across the country. These companies do not employ trained or educated individuals to apply these chemicals. One of my educational background is botany/horticulture. I see miss use and purpose abuse of chemicals. Plus, we need to eliminate wheat and gluten products from our diets! New research is showing gluten proteins are cause inflammation not only in our colons, but also in our brains. We are not ment to eat grass grains like we do. I wish I could write more.
I'm not blaming farmers. The issue is the consumption of unsustainable agriculture. Farmers produce only what is demanded. I work DIRECTLY with small farming operations to utilize agricultural inoculants as an alternative to traditional fertilizer.
@bearbaitofficial people always bring farmers up with fertilizer issues and algae blooms. Most farmers don't even use dry prill fertilizers anymore. The big thing is we need to cut back on agriculture farming and raise cattle. Let the prairie plains grow back and free range cattle. Vegetables are killing humans.
@@dna3930 the problem is not the farmers, the problem is the way the government has subsidized large scale industrial farming, no one is mad at farmers and if they are they dont fully understand the situation, what is a problem is the large industrial farms that take up all the water from everyone, use insane amounts of pesticides necessitating stronger crops, and other issues caused when the margins get tight for small farms family farms to live comfortably, this is a top down issue, no one should be blaming farmers, we should be working together, farmers and climate activists, to change the way the government subsidizes the large industrial farms, but it should be noted that most of the corn goes to feeding cattle in industrial cow farms, theres also the issue that the overgrazing of cattle has been the thing that prevents a large part of prairies from growing back, however there can be and should be alternatives that farmers should be able to access, there are also permaculture designs for farming that can benefit the landscape, the government should be funding a lot of this as well.
@AnthemUnanthemed over grazing isn't from cows it is from sheep and goats. Sheep and goats will eat the crown of the plant killing the plant, cows don't eat the crowns. This is why back in the 1900s cattle farmers and sheep farmers always fought over grazing issues. Sheep decimates fields and land from how they graze. Another thing that cause issues is using synthetic fertilizers, it damages or kills off natural nitrogen producing organisms. Most large scale farmers do not use dry casting prill form of fertilizers in fields. Most spray their crops using foliar uptake reducing and eliminating a lot of run off. Also the amount of farms now compared to 50-60 years ago is a lot less. Lost over 5000 farms since 2022! Government controls market prices by paying farmers to fallow out the ground and not grow. All outside countries and governments shouldn't own land or property within the United States! A middle east country owns a growing place in Arizona is drianing ground water and breaking water laws. If people want to blame something blame golfcourses! Approximately 17,000 golfcourse within just the US alone, they all use dry prill casting fertilizers on everything. Along with insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and many other pesticides. It is just that every time some one says anything about algae blooms and fertilizers, the frst group is farmers. They need to restrict fertilizer and pesticide usage among the public on their personal yards also. It is all about arrogance. Most people have more is better and use way to much. Feeding GMO plants to cattle doesn't help! GMO's need to be banded and companies sued for killing people. Good discussion thank you for engaging.
