Hi there, yes, indeed. Photogrammetry can stitch the model together no matter the angle - at least when viewing the resulting point cloud. An abstracted 2D model (orthomosaic or digital surface model) wouldn't be able to consider the under side, as it's always a top-down view.
Hi! Thanks for the review. I heard that the mavic 3E does not georeference the images with the RTK module...is this right? I heard the RTK is only for flight positioning and higher accuracy of the aircraft.
Hi Alberto! The Mavic 3 Enterprise indeed does save the corrected RTK location of the drone into the images, so the coordinates in the photos' EXIF data will be accurate. Not sure what you've heard. However, in most drones it is the location of the GPS/RTK module, not the lens. The photogrammetry software needs to take that into account. Hope this helps!
Hi there! In this case, we fly with the RTK module on the drone itself. There is no base station. So in theory, you can fly 3-5 km away from your controller, however that is not allowed due to air use regulations.
I have a Mavic 3 Enterprise with an RTK unit and need to find out how to connect to a local NTRIP GNSS service without the need for a GNSS base station, just using a cellular connection. How can I contact you directedly?
Hi Luis, there are indeed a lot of programs out there for photogrammetry mapping, most of them are not free. On the more expensive software side, but arguably the better ones are Agisoft Metashape Pro and Bentley ContextCapture. Personally, I'm a fan of cloudbased solutions, the big ones are DroneDeploy and Pix4D. The scenes out of the video are from my company's own solution that we offer for construction companies and contracting authorities, and is tailored to the construction needs. Usually we sell the processing per flight and offer surveying/3D modeling or data analysis services on top. That all being said, the best free solution seems to be opendronemap.org - the install process is a bit tricky, but you can purchase the WebODM installer for around 50$ from their store and get around the hassle. I'm considering to do a comparison video at some point between some of the most known solutions.
The controller that comes with the M3E drone has the DJI application that comes with the drone. Also there are 3rd party apps like Dronedeploy the can be loaded into the controller
@@JBS2018 I'm personally a civil engineer with a strong tech background, however in my company, we have surveyors aswell - so we offer surveying services, but also contract them out to scale our operations. Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions!
@@chrisvoltafellow civil engineer! I just found this video of yours and you mentioned about road construction. Apparently, I am in the water/sewer sector. We would like to use this equipment to survey road alignments - could you give me an approximate info on the max. allowable distance it could cover in a single flight? For one, we are to cover a 25km raw water transmission line, but we are worried that doing a auto mission pathing would be impossible because of the distance. Would a RTK base station also help in this scenario? Cheers! And thank you in advance!
Great video! Is it possible to get the coordinates underneath the bridge after 3d image processing?

Hi.. thanks for the review, how do u think about mavic 3 enterprice vs metrice 300 rtk who is better
Hi, very interesting video. How far can the drone be from the base to maintain the RTK correction ?

Hi there, for sure! Feel free to send me a DM on twitter.com/ChVolta
Hi brother Does Mavic 3 Enterprises collects the field data in the form of Point Cloud or anything ?
which program exactly do i need? Since they sell several with different costs
