    My dad did national service went to Egypt, after service he didn’t pursue a military career, but he always spoke with pride about his service, I know it wasn’t easy but he instilled a sense of pride and confidence that we could do anything as a family he has long since passed and I miss him everyday.
    As for the royal children, their life is service and I’m sure they will follow in their parents and grandparents footsteps., and feisty Charlotte will be right up there waving the flag.
    Thankyou Elliott ❤

    I think that the BRF would encourage the children to do this regardless, as you said, so I don't think that they will mind. As you have mentioned, several of the BRF have been involved in military service in the past. QE2 also helped out in some capacity, I have seen her in pictures doing things with the military.

    I love when you give historical context, and link these things to current events. It's something I don't easily know or have reference to. It's one of the reasons I've always loved watching your episodes. I've always liked the concept of a national service, but I quite agree with you that the practicalities need some working out. In terms of the royal family, I wish they would consider the fact the principal royal family lives their lives as a national service, so the ridiculous furor is ... ridiculous.

    Great discussion video. I am broadly in favour of National Service but it certainly does need a more detailed and well thought out proposal. Re the royals, in Europe the Crown princesses are all doing military duty as a normal thing. I think all royals in the direct line of succession should do national service too. Or Nasho, as it was called in Australia!

    • @SpiritwindZ
      @SpiritwindZ 27 дней назад

      @@mario-qi3yw Yes she did. Queen Elisabeth expected all her children and grandchildren to join the military in some fashion. William was in the Air Force as a pilot and Prince Harry was in the marines as a gunner. William was later a search and rescue pilot while in the military; after leaving service in 2013, he began a job as an air ambulance pilot in 2015 for the East Anglia Air Ambulance crew for 2 years, while still fulfilling his duties to the Queen.
      Prince Charles served in the Royal Navy and rose to the exalted position of commanding a minesweeper HMS Bronington in home waters. Prince Andrew however, served in combat in the Falklands. He flew helicopters and flew Exocet decoy missions during the war.

    If it becomes law then of course all the eligible Royal children should be involved. Whether or not it does I expect that the male Wales will follow in their fathers footsteps and Charlotte, in the age of equality will probably have the same opportunity and/or perhap become involved with one of Princess Diana pet projects.

    I think firstly we need to put the political aspect to one side. And, even in this day and age seperate Charlotte from George and Louis.
    On the whole, the Monarchy (or at least the court) has traditionalist views. Would there not be an expectation on certainly George and lesser so on Louis to do some form of military service? In George's case all his predecessors (including his great grandmother) all the way back to Edward VII served in one of the forces. Charlotte, you could argue either way. But I think it actually wouldn't go down well if everyone else had to participate in some way and they didn't.
