Marilyn Manson is the GOAT! Christopher Harlow, I am 43, been a fan for 30 years and I had all but lost hope in Manson's return to form after the masterpiece that is Holy Wood. The Golden Age of Grotesque marked the end of MM as I loved the band and then Eat Me Drink Me just killed my hope even more because it was at that point that MM went from being MM, the band to a showcase of whomever he was collaborating with, which I colloquially refer to as the the "Marilyn Manson... And Friends" era... Side note: I remember when normies would refer to mm as "him" rather than "them"as a band, it infuriated me to see the rest of the band getting ignored and then for it to actually happen, really broke my heart. It still wasn't enough for me to give up on MM as I'm an extremely devoted and dedicated fan. Anyhow, to get back to what I was saying...I will say that The High End of Low was great because it was a man pained by heartbreak and marked the return of Twiggy, but it was still weak when compared to the Triptych and Portrait Of An American Family. I loved that album because it really helped me regain the strength I needed to leave a toxic relationship and I am forever grateful to MM for this piece of work. Still though, it did not instill faith back into me in regards to a return to form but when The Pale Emperor dropped....I was blown away, it rivaled Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood for me. It actually tied with Mechanical Animals in the greatness of his albums, 2nd only to Portrait Of An American Family. While this is still part of the "Marilyn Manson and Friends" era, it was his strongest outing since Holy Wood and will go down as the greatest album of that era. So with that being said, I cannot possibly convey how excited I am to see the return of Marilyn Manson as a band. The way he introduces them on stage and shows them in the new videos.... It fills my heart with so much joy to see this return to form and, in my most honest and humble opinion, this is the greatest comeback of all time.
Man, I remember the first time I heard this. I'm gonna say something that is really unpopular. I'm going to preface it by saying I love all of Mansons work. But...I think the Pale Emporer was his best album. Like I said, I know most won't agree but this album is so matured and shows everything he's learned in his 30+ years as an artist. It shows why he belongs in the Hall of Fame and why he should go down as one of the greatest artists of all time. Much love
I listened to this album when it first came out and didn't really feel that fond of it but the more I listen the more appreciation and love I grow for it. This album definitely is amazing. I think that all of his albums are masterpieces in there own ways. They are all very different in many ways and that's why I love this artist so much his variety is what keeps me intrigued so much.
I completely agree with you. When it first came out I admittedly didn't like it too much but the more I revisit this album, the more I find myself liking it.

MM screams several times as if about to break down in tears or something here- at least, that's the impression I'm getting w. how he's singing this song....
I think that The Pale Emperor might be one of the best Marilyn Manson albums... Best since Holy Wood at least. Holy Wood *might* be a bit better... Maybe
***** That's got some brilliant music. The seductively writhing guitar solos of Evidence and Putting Holes in Happiness; the bittersweet riffs of Putting Holes... and They Say That Hell's not Hot; the deep and oozing bass lines of Evidence and Eat Me Drink Me, the heavy, measured production of If I was Your Vampire; and a welcome break from tired shock value that was beginning to stale in GAoG. Generally seen as a four-star album by critics and I agree. Took me a while to get into it but once did I could play it over and over.

100% agree, he's always been okay in my books, but this being more upfront and stripped back really grabbed me.
I agree
Yes
I love how raw and piercing Manson’s voice is. It’s like it captures perfectly internal screams, rage, and sarcasm all in one
Why sarcasm?
could be why he says when his voice is recorded it has several different pitches or whatever you call it when most have just one or two pitches
