Cutting Off My Locs + My Family’s Reactions

- I put this loc set through the ringer and ultimately, I knew it was time to cut my locs off. Going from interlocking to retwisting (more than once) and combing out some of my ends definitely changed the strength and integrity of my locs and instead of paying lots of money to have them repaired or combined, I decided to cut them off. I would love to restart them and go a little bigger (not as large as the last time) but for now, I'm going to enjoy every stage of this regrowth process.
Hopefully this inspires you to do what is best for YOURSELF and be intentional about your next move!

You should not have done this. Everything you said about your hair was about someone else and someone else’s perspective. Not you’re self. YOU LOVED YOU LOCS!! I really wish you would’ve pushed through, fix and loved your locs and the just appreciate every bit of the journey and have the experience to look back at these hards time that your locs experienced with you and be able to laugh and teach the next. I ran across one of your -videos and I was so excited to see you journey today. And I came here and you cut them!! Please start over 🥲
But the short phase is aswesome on the bright side!! You can bleach it with no worry of it falling out. And with make up!!?? Girl please. Killing the game
Aww thank you!! 🫶🏾🫶🏾 I really wasn’t in the best space to care for them the way they deserved and because I switched from interlocking to retwisting, they were thinner than I’d like too. I know that I could have gotten them fixed but I didn’t want to have to spend lots of money at a professional when I could just cut them off and start over when I’m ready. Trust me, I thinking about locking back up often and I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m locked again very soon! If I could have a mix of my first set and my last set, I think that size would be beautiful! 🥰
I was the same way when I combed mines out. I regretted it a week later lol…I realize now that I’m retired from all the hairstyles I’ve tried. I relocked a week ago. Excited to start over my journey
Yeees!! That’s just it, I think I missed my old styles and had to scratch that itch but I was NOT prepared for the detangle lifestyle again. I re-locked a few months ago. 😂. Yaay to restarting your journey, it’s going to be so beautiful!
