Are we just gonna ignore the fact that that guy could memorize shows that was aired on specific days?
He never really specified what happend on the shows. It's not hard to memorise show run dates instead of individual episodes.
Would he have known if the birth date was a Saturday or Sunday when the the shows didn't run?? If so, I would be impressed rather than just memorizing what game shows aired each year. Just sayin ;P .

i think part of it is his wide range of references and wit and also just practice. when he first came out to hollywood as a writer he took improv classes and he said that really helped him.

My theory is that the whole obsession with Conan in South Korea started with these girls
They came back home and just would not shut up about how funny this U.S. celebrity talk show guy was to all their friends and family so little by little that increase on Conan views in RUclips in the region started getting real momentum and just snowballed as part of their pop culture. Then BAM! Conan is national icon to them and when news broke that he was visiting their country everybody lost their minds and flooded the airport screaming and that's where his whole rock star entrance video picks up and the rest is history

This is actually believable. The country I'm from doesn't get mentioned a lot on internet videos but when it does, my fellow countrymen come in like soldiers on a battlefield. Statistically yes, most comedians suffer with depression. There's a lot of research to suggest that being intelligent and creative enough to be a successful comedian often comes with darkness and mood disorders, which can then be exacerbated further with addiction issues to drugs or alcohol. It's also suggested that they are using humor to try and hide the pain from even themselves, like maybe life won't suck so much if they're laughing at it.

It is still more common for creative people to suffer mood disorders but sadness is not always involved. Just because it's more common does not mean I'm referring to everyone or even most people.

No it's not. It's called recreational retention. Basically, I like game shows a lot so I retain information about it easily. If you asked me to memorize a bunch of facts about baseball or World War II, I couldn't do this.
