Yes. This is a bipartisan issue we should ALL be concerned about. Mitch McConnell seems completely out of it too. And Nancy Pelosi announced shes running again in 2024 at like 84(?). We need to have mandatory retirement ages and DEFINITELY mandatory term limits. It's so ridiculous.

Nah, Nancy Pelosi running in 2024 is a great thing. It doesn’t take a genius to see that she wanted to retire years ago, yet due to her own machinations she is left with no successor and is forced to keep her seat. Nancy Pelosi will sit in Congress until the day she dies, and there is no more fitting punishment.
We the people are screwed either way, at the very least we can have the consolation prize of knowing that the evil “people” in charge of our country will be forced to spend their last years lashed to the machine with no peaceful retirement.

While I agree wholeheartedly on the term limits, I don't for the retirement ages.
      - As medical science and technology advances (hopefully with the CDC gone given its numerous transgressions in the last three years alone), we should expect average lifespans to increase.
      - Age is not a gold standard for assessing performance capability. You could have someone who's sharp as a tack at 90, while you could also have someone like Biden who's been a bumbling idiot since 20.
Cognitive tests would be a better way to determine who is eligible to continue, as well as Constitutional coherence. If you fail either of them, you're out.

As someone who survived a hemorrhagic stroke that changed my cognitive function, it was imperative to adjust and embrace those changes sooner than later. The longer I tried to feel "normal" the harder it was to live life. I was a supervisor and I know that it affected my staff as well. It took over two years to accept that I could no longer work in that position. I loved that job so it was hard to let go. My life is better now and I'm thankful that I faced the change.

@truthseeker2815 Trump was administered a Cognitive test in 2018, while President.
"Trump, 74, was given the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) under Dr. Ronny Jackson, the former White House physician, and at the time had scored a perfect 30 out of 30.
I created the test in 1996 as a screening examination where we ask the patient several questions," Nasreddine told NBC News. "Each question is accessing a different part of the brain in terms of cognition.”
It’s a test only given by doctors and not meant for the general public.
“It has to be interpreted by a physician who has expertise in cognitive disorders and cognition,” Nasreddine said.A score of greater than 26 is considered normal while 18-25 is considered mild cognitive impairment, 10-17 is considered moderate cognitive impairment. A score less than 10 is considered severe cognitive impairment."

There should be a two term limit for senators and congressmen, as well as the president, with a 65 year age limit at the beginning of their first term. That way they would be a maximum of 73 by the end of their second term. Without lifetime politicians clogging up the system, it will open up the field for new people with new ideas and a high turnover rate will prevent entrenched good ole boys networks from forming.

Age isn’t an issue…look at Justice Ginsberg. I didn’t agree with her legislating from the bench and most of her decisions but I have to admire her stamina and intellect up until the very end of her long life. The requirement should be an annual cognitive test that is 100% available to the public. Does everyone remember during Trump’s administration that the media and public demanded he take a cognitive test and physical and he did it and made it public. That shut them up…at least about that. Yet the same is not being done by the Biden administration…because they know he would fail it miserably. There are people in their 60’s that fail these tests and people in their 90’s that ace them. So age isn’t the issue. Why we don’t require annual cognitive tests of our leaders is ridiculous. Even worse…why people actually vote for someone who clearly demonstrates cognitive decline is beyond ridiculous.

    • @gavinjenkins899
      @gavinjenkins899 Год назад

There is one: not voting for them. Restrictions codified into law are completely unnecessary, and obviously undemocratic and wrong. If he gets voted anyway, it means most Americans (ignoring the electoral college which is also undemocratic) wanted him to be president, and you want to disenfranchise them. Sorry but you don't know better than everyone else. What you're looking for is dictatorship, you have various options for that around the world if you prefer it. In a democracy, your opinion here should count for exactly 1 vote, not all votes.

It is an illness where the person slowly fades away & you notice that they go down in plateau's, it's rather like watching a film which begins to slow down. So therefore, it is quite obvious to me that Biden has this disease which is irreversible. 200 years ago this illness was rare as most died young, but today with many living into their 80's & 90's, we have care homes providing a service for millions of the elderly....

I initially wanted to say that Biden owed him an apology for walking away, but poor clueless Joe probably didn't even realize what he was doing. It wasn't his fault; he is suffering from early to mid dementia, whether he (and the White House) wants to admit it or not. Would there be a test that Biden would likely fail and Trump pass? Or vice-versa, or would they both fail or pass? Just an indication of the types of tests you think would be appropriate and how the two candidates might perform relative to each other. I believe that would make an interesting video.

He also ended ISIS in two weeks after 20 years in Afghanistan and didn't start a new international conflict. He'll end the conflict in Ukraine, too. His track record is nearly without blemish, if you filter out all of the state run propaganda that's being pushed by the people who are profiting off all of our misery.
