Sadly, it is almost like a game with all things related to guns. For most, most guns themselves (hand guns, riles, shot guns, etc) are difficult to find. Secondly, ammo is also difficult to find, and when you do find what you are specifically looking for, it is highly inflated in price. And finally, most of the better accessories are limited in availability and inflated in price. Add to all that the fact that when you do an internet search, the more part of the websites that carry those items don’t reveal that they are out of stock until to do a second search once your are on their sight. Frustrating is an understatement. I wish I could share better news.
Just as an FYI, Holosum’s HS 510C is an excellent sight. It’s very well built and has great optics. It stacks up against far more expensive sights. Hello! I am going to buy the green dot/65 moa ring version soon. But I am curious. If the lens caps are see through, is there any practical reason to pop them open at all? I just want to have a better understanding. Thank you for the review.
I saw you have both the Sig Romeo 4T and the Holosun HE515GT how would you compare and contrast the Sig from the Holosun? I know you said you like the looks of the Romeo more but in terms of glass clarity, durability, reticle brightness/clarity, mount stability and ease of use how do they compare? Finally, you can get them both with the solar cell, which I like, but I know the Holosun will automatically adjust the brightness based on ambient light. I prefer to turn that off except maybe when at the outdoor range. Is there a way to use the solar cell to power the optic and to be able to turn on or off the ability of it to mess with the brightness of the reticle?
Neal is a great guy. I had my first purchase from him & I messed up the order. He helped make it right for me! Excited for my new Holosun. Does anyone have the HE503CU-GR? How do you like it?
Does the o-ring on the battery compartment on the solar powered one tuck all the way in on yours or does it stick out after screwing it in and tightening? I tried tucking the o-ring in on mine but it doesnt tuck in very easy or nicely. From all the shoving I was doing to it to get it in I damaged the o-ring and it still doesnt fit in flush... I don't really like that about it.
I just got the Primary Arms advanced micro red dot because it was in sale for under a hundred dollars. A day later the Holosun went on sale, not fair. Anyway I'm building a pistol and I intend to put a Holosun on it.
I think it's going to be a few more months unfortunately. I have not received any incense May of last year, so Holosun it's definitely having some supply or raw material issues which is preventing them from manufacturing any of the 515 series. My guess would be it's the 7075 aluminum. So right now there's no ETA. On the optic with the solar cell if you put the optic in manual mode so you can control brightness does that make it so the solar cell can not power the optic? In certain situations, I would want to have control over brightness but would still want to leverage the ability to power the optic via the solar cell in case my battery was not functioning.
@@Gary-mq1hn You're right. I just checked the manual that came with my 515GT model and it says the same thing. I did call Holosun customer support and they told me that the lens caps are made of a type of very tough clear scratch resistant composite material. If I recall, the older models used to have the lens covers made of glass and they changed to the composite material because it's less likely to crack given the lens caps are so thin.
