- Always good to get up and knock any rust off the flying skills from time to time, especially if there's no other good reason to fly coming up soon. For this flight I did a short hop to Temple and back to get in a couple of landings.

Was it just me, ATC was talking so fast I thought I was at an auction !
I guess you get used to it! :) She was a bit busy
I really enjoy just seeing a normal guy fly one of these.

What a small world. Got to fly with DPS in their EC145 in and out of KEDC when I worked down in that area. Live in Temple and have worked at the Fire Station located on that airport so may have seen you coming and going. Been interested in the TBM in the simulator and this video got recommend. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jason, nice little flight. Would love to see a video of the peddle input on takeoff to show you countering the P factor from all your torque and big prop wash.
Been nearly a month since I last flew due to work, weather and a having a cold but hoping to get up tomorrow and/or Tuesday as we have a quieter spell of WX here in the UK before the next low pressure front.
Interesting idea, especially for a crosswind landing. Will try! For takeoff I tend to put the power in smooothly otherwise I tend to swerve trying to keep up with the p-factor changes

@@VRFlightSimGuy I have the Rift S...is it worth it to get the Reverb? Does it still work for Steam VR games?
@@JasonFlies Hey Jason, if you have a spare week I have tons of videos about it on my channel using the TBM. It works great with Steam VR, the resolution is amazing for flight simulation but it does require a beefier PC and a bit of time setting up.

Yeah, I was able to help test their beta - easily the best sim plane I have ever seen for realism.

Could you do a full video from start to shut down?
I think I am working my way toward having 2 gopros that live in the plane so I can do that. Key is to make it where I can get footage but not be distracted by it. Good goal!
@@JasonFlies Awesome thanks! I fly the Hot Start TBM that you beta tested all the time and I've gotten pretty comfortable flying it, but I want to see exactly how a real pilot would fly it.

Is this all filmed on a GoPro? Looks great.
The front-facing was with a GoPro 8, did seem pretty good! The rest was on my iphone which has a really nice camera nowadays.

Can you do sightseeing in a TBM?
Sure, but it is more built for speed/travel. Visibility for sightseeing is better in other aircraft.
