Thank you for this very interesting video. I'm working for the company which manufactures the air conditioning system and other stuff. The GASC General Air System Controller was my very first project. It would be a big thing for me to see this little box installed in the aircraft. I think it is hidden behind a panel in the baggage bay. Maybe you could show it to me. I would be very happy. Thanks.
Really nice to see this video. At 2:50-3:02 you access the fuel filter. Don't know why it bothers me but the key seems to be permanently attached. Is this so? Seems odd that it wouldn't fold away to a more aerodynamic shape. Beautiful plane and great videos. Enjoy it.
Can you fit any clubs in that front cargo area? If not can you do it well in the rear? Debating on an m600 or tbm. Also what do you see for your operating cost not including insurance or hangar. Just fuel and maintenance.
Thanks for the tour ! Did they also teach you stuff like basic maintenance and pre-flight/post-flight check up at Simcom ? Did you have to do your 20h with a tutor in Orlando too ?
They do help with learning the preflight stuff during your initial training but for overall maintenance advice you rely on the shop and Daher themselves to educate you. I did most of my initial 20-25 hours of mentor time with my sales broker but spent some time in the real plane with the simcom instructor and a third guy. Helpful to get multiple perspectives.
I had 1000 hours in single engine pistons, so insurance made me go to SimCom training for a week plus get 25 hours of time with a mentor/instructor pilot. That went by quick though. I was getting comfortable in the plane at about 15-20 hours in, once I had done the full week at SimCom. I don't think being the owner factors into the requirements.
@Mircea I imagine you could remove the back 2 seats and do something yourself that would be less permanent than the video above (the hard-door) option. Would be better than nothing :)
typically around 7-10 minutes, though I do an extra thorough one when I am updating databases and have extra time sitting in the hangar (often not flying those days, just checking on the plane and making sure it is ready for the next flights)
$650/mon - just big enough to fit the TBM. Community/shared hangar space can be cheaper, maybe $350 in this area of Texas. Private hangars are nice b/c you can store some stuff there and have power when you need to clean the plane or update databases, etc.
That TBM must be a strain financially, A beautiful aircraft but a very "bare-bones" hangar, no pilot lounge, small bar/kitchenette, un-painted/unfinished walls etc. Make it as classy as your plane. Do it please !
Understood, Love the TBM. After looking into the Epic 1000, I'm leaning heavy towards TBM. Wife is holding me back for reason of use and practicality of expenses involved. We'll see what happens soon.
Jason: Always enjoy seeing the nuts and bolts of an airplane walk around. Thank you! Patrick from Albuquerque
What a nice plane, thanks for showing it.
Awesome tour, thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Beautiful plane! Very well thought out & flys like a dream.
I love the TBM, one day hope to fly one..

Super tour ! Jason How much did you pay for this TBM ?
Nice paint job! How did you with a wonderful paint scheme?

yeah, guess that makes sure you don't lose it, which is good! It's really pretty small.

@@JasonFlies That’s great to know, thanks !
Do you work for Foreflight? Edit: Nevermind, found it - congrats on your success! That's awesome.
Jason, do you mostly use the plane for business and family trips?
about 50/50 so far
I'd really like to see a video explaining the costs of owning such an airplane.
Nice!! How's the insurance on the 900? Did they require a min number of hours as pic, or being a owner give you a break?

Thanks so much!!
Have you ever thought about zip-tying in some small LED lights and leave an action camera in the engine room during startup and flight?
Interesting, though I don't know how hot it gets in there - likely very
Did you say that it is an option convert the cargo area into a lav?
Yeah, check it out ruclips.net/video/Azs1vKJyxgc/видео.html

How long does it take you to preflight your plane?
typically around 7-10 minutes, though I do an extra thorough one when I am updating databases and have extra time sitting in the hangar (often not flying those days, just checking on the plane and making sure it is ready for the next flights)
Is it a free drive turbo prop engine or direct drive?
It's a PT6 - free turbine
@@JasonFlies thx
Was that a AoA vane on the vertical stabilizer?
I think you are seeing the VOR/Glideslope antenna up there...for AoA TBMs use the stall warning vane, an improved one that can sense AoA
@@JasonFlies Thank you.
What year is the plane?
This convinced me to go twin. One $5 belt and youre SOL.
what's the fastest TAS you've flown it?
320
How much is that Hangar to rent a year and what size is it?

นี้ให้เข้าใจอ่านข้อเสนอสัญญาเอาไปวิเคราะห์ก่อนตัดสินใจฉันไม่มีความรู้เรื่องเครื่องบินเล็กมันดูง่ายแต่ยาก
Planes hangared, why so worried about so many covers?
Birds, bugs, etc still an issue so don't want things getting clogged
Jason Oh nice, I saw you walking back to the plane a couple weeks ago from the FBO while I was in the golf cart. Was flying with Scott in his Extra.

I agree, if I owned it I might! :) No hangars for sale
