ANNOYING/Confused Otis Hydraulic Freight Elevator in A&S-KoP Mall Upper Merion, PA

- Installed in 1981, Modernized in 2001. This is the only service elevator I have used that has non-functional Door Open AND Door Close buttons. I believe that is a serious federal code violation, and a MAJOR violation of PA state law and Montgomery County code... Leave it to Kravco|SIMON to modernize a nice old 1981 Otis w/ GAL that was essentially indestructible with a new **** controller and faulty switches...
The rather new (2001?) ThyssenKrupp freight elevator at the museum I work at has an enforced 10 sec delay between last activation of the door edge optos or the door having opened and the doors being willing to close. I suspect this is the result of a delay in the Peelle door controller combined with ANOTHER delay in the ThyssenKrupp controls. Either way if you try to close it prematurely it ignores you and WILL NOT CLOSE or allow you to call it to move for another 30 seconds! It's... weird.
I think they need a louder bell :P
I think what may have happened is that the door sensor is broken, so the elevator thinks there's always an obstruction so it won't let you close it until it "nudges" (which is what the alarm bell and voice is) so all they would need to do is fix some wiring or replace the sensor. Either that or the close button itself is broken or the wiring's messed up, which on most freighters would render it useless, except for this one which happens to have a nudge
Do they have elevators this size in sky scraper that go all the way to the top?

This is a schindler. Because dieselducy has filmed this elevator. And it is a schindler because the close door button DOES NOT WORK.

It must be thinking that something is blocking the door, it uses a bell instead of a speaker, it must be in nudge mode.
I'm surprised that it doesn't warn u about the doors opening!! Lmao

@suzzex I haven't ever heard an Otis that sounds like this...
sadly it rings the same one the alarm no longer works so the cell phone is a must in this lift
@Ih8escalators Well it is not an Otis. I think it possibly could be a Penn City/Dover but I doubt it. Westy would install a POS like this. After all, on 2, it no longer dings for the wrong directions, BOTH LANTERNS light up!!!
@dea41396returns I'm saying it sounds similar. 77 Quaker Ridge is a 1974 OTIS and it sounds somewhat similar. (The pump, not the elevator)

... I got stuck in a stupid Otis before... My father and I were pretending we were ballet dancers! Then I tripped *it was a big lift* then it said lift heavy weight then the lights went off them my dad called the fire brigade the it took them 2hours...
