Bought a Ruger PC Charger a few months ago-added tandem kross charging handle, muzzle brake, Sb Tactical brace, inforce tac light on rail, about to install Frnklinklin binary trigger. Couldnt be happier! Own many Sigs but the price point was beyond what I wanted to spend. What you didn’t discuss was the “take-down’ feature of the Ruger. This feature was the game changer for me! Makes it a perfect backpack/bugout weapon.
Ruger PC Charger 1. Price (3 for the price of 1, or 1, a bunch of extra mags, and $1,000 of ammo) 2. Magazine compatibility, reliability, availability (Glock mags been around almost 40 years) 3. Availability The Sig is great, just difficult to justify the price.
I've had the Ruger PC Charger for about a year now and really like it. A bit heavy, however the additional weight help mitigate recoil resulting in greater accuracy with rapid fire. My wife typically has difficulty with managing the recoil of 9mm pistols, but she finds the PC Charger easier to operate which I believe is contributed to the blowback system and heavier profile.
Just picked up a Ruger Charger. For what it is and the consideration of the price I’d say you certainly can’t go wrong. Sigs are absolutely great but the price is something I couldn’t justify spending. Great video.
Sad that more people cant enjoy the sigs. I cannot get past the obviously greedy price structure of it all. Mags do not cost even half of that 70 dollar price tag to manufacture. Huge red flag. I bet if we saw how much the manufactured cost is we would probably all throw up your lunch simultaneously.
The two Sig Executives who got caught selling illegal arms in South America got caught and had to plea bargain, they both paid out over half a million dollars each and are on probation. That's why you pay more for a Sig. 😆
Nice review, I bought the PC Charger a few months ago. I went with the Midwest industries side folding brace , Sig Romeo 5, and Game Changer Pro compensator. Once I got my red dot sighted, it was just amazing. Like the gentleman stated in video, little recoil because it's weighted in the front. This is a very accurate gun. Perfect truck gun, easy to operate, easy to takedown and clean. Wish it was more rail on it, but it's easily one of my favorite guns to shoot overall.
Well I have one of these for my truck gun , and with a binary trigger added to it , I believe it will out do the sig , I like Sig but for the money you can , do better
Good video. I like that you got some buddies that appear to never have shot these to provide opinions. I am going to get the MPX. With SP5 like recoil at 2/3 the price and AR ergonomics it works best for our HD purpose. Ease of use, not being surprised by recoil, and ease of getting back on target is critical for home defense IMO. It is an adrenaline flooded defensive scenario. Life > money.
I won my pc charger and I loved it ever since the first time I shot it the trigger out of the box is amazing I swapped it for my lefty shooter nephew such a great gun
Bought a Sig MPX 3 months ago, and I'm very happy, but the problem is I'm form Argentina, and the price tag of this machine here is 4600 american dollars. The issue is the global abailability, but here we have almost closed imports. Added a sig Romeo 5, and a lot of accesories, easy over 5k u$.
I own the MPX and the PC Charger I honestly enjoy shooting the charger more but I'm deep hearted Sig fan and I always will be. Let's talk quality the MPX I could clean in 10 mins but the PC Charger takes longer. I clean my guns after every shoot and I'm not sure if the PC Charger was built for that. The PC Charger quality isn't as good but good enough. The MPX gutz are all steel while the PC charger is mixed with plastic, steel and brass. If we were talking longevity you should already know the answer by now.
This was a great video. I like them both- however I can't get over the aesthetics of the Ruger. I just don't like the handguard design...ugh... however it runs! I love the PC9.
Good video! Thoroughly enjoyed your input. I bought an mpx a while back, on sale, paid $1200. Got four additional mags at $30 each. Vortex Sparc for an optic. I love the gun but I’m shocked by how expensive they have become!
Even if I had the money I'd still go with the Ruger. Since they're both Great guns it makes more since to get the Ruger. The money saved can get you more mags and a whole lot of ammo or even another 1-2 more guns.
I picked the MPX-K only because it had a similar manual of arms and operation as my Ruger SR-556. I feel at home on it whereas the PC Charger felt completely foreign. The PC Charger is not a bad firearm by any means, it was just way too different for me. For a sub gun platform, I just wanted what I'm used to.
I love ruger and I also love sig but sigs price is always high and I think you put it in the correct perspective that do you like it for that much more money
The example in this video shows the SIG with a muzzle brake and the Ruger without. Huge difference. There are plenty of muzzle brakes and other attachments available for the Ruger.
I got my pc charger brand new a sb brace 30 rd mag and a 50 rd drum mag (yeah I wanted it to look like a little mini tommy gun) and optics for right around 1k
If I were looking at building a truck gun, I would opt to just buy the Ruger and not go through the process of a ground up build. Both are nice but I like the MPX more, I am not a fan of side folding. The MPX price is way more but honestly, unless I shot both, I would not know which one I would buy if I was in the market for one.
Great video excellent content but in my opinion to many people look over how much value you get with the pc charger. Everything you showed was excellent but I switch back and forth with my 4" barrel to my 16" barrel to get lots more velocity, having a PCC that switches to a rifle and back is like having to guns for the price of one. And it's a cheap price at that 😅
I luckily got my mpx when there was a price drop to $1700. I consider getting the ruger a couple years ago, my roomate even got the ruger. But im happy i got the mpx for cheaper than 2000
Thanks for this honest appraisal of these two very different PCCs. You can spend about $300. - $400. on a half dozen RUGER PC upgrades from MCARBO or TANDEMKROSS and make the RUGER PC more reliable and ergonomic (i.e. TANDEMKROSS ambidextrous safety levers, extended mag release button and heavier bolt spring. MCARBO's extractor and pins, brake, hold-open bar, TACCOM solid Delrin mag well extension.) Add a HOLOSUN AEMS circle/dot sight and you will have an EXCELLENT PCC that eats any decent ammo and has a rapid take-down design, handy for transport and cleaning. I've done all this to my RUGER PC chassis carbine (16" barrel) and love it. RUGER's cold hammer forged barrels are as good as H&K barrels! And that's no "chit".(Translation: Chit -> Texican spelling of shit.)

I'm sure by price alone, most will say Sig is better. The Ruger is equally as good, if not better. You'll still have enough left over to purchase a 2-3 more guns.
I have the charger and love it. just have irons on it and it shoots like a champ. don't even want a dot for it. now that sig is dope af. so I would get that one to when the funds are available lol. but my best pcc is my scorpion that's been all tricked out.
I like both one day I will have both but as of right now I'll stick with my extar EP 9 ( takes Glock mags and you can put AR grips on it and safeties and triggers) and my scorpion 🦂
The take down feature of the Ruger is something you didn't mention which is a very nice feature. Also, for the cost difference, those on a budget can get extra mags, the sight, stock, ammo, and anything else they want with some money to spare. The value is the Ruger alone is far better than the Sig IMO

Man if I'm going to pay 2000 plus dollars; I'm going to buy the king of the hill a B&T SPC9. PC Charger is nice because I have a Binary Trigger and you're using Glock mags.
I purchased my sig mpx k for 1800 used my trump check only paid 500 out of my pocket I have six mags and didn’t pay anywhere close to 70 for them probably around 45
I really like my PC charger and with a Holsun red dot, brace and 5 glock mags I'm under $900. If it was legal where I live I'd throw another $300-400 at it and add a binary trigger.
Great video. Straight to the real proof! I have the Ruger PC Charger with a SIG folding stock. Shoots great! Price is ok. But balance is not good. It's front heavy. They could have fixed that by putting the mag in the grip. On the other hand, I also have the Keltec SUB2000. That's a perfectly balanced gun in my opinion. But shooting +P is not recommended unlike the PC Charger. Both will go into my backpack. But the Keltec has better velocity and range and deploys faster. Obviously different applications.
At least a factory lil fixed front sight woulda been nice on the ruger I mean come on looks at that sight radius, it’s no more than a average hand piece. Not knocking you making the video just these companies that can still make a profit after putting some irons on a gun. 2023 damn near all guns should come with irons.
People say Ruger but go find an available Sig MPX, may e a 16 inch barrel comp if your lucky. Don't get me wrong Ruge is sweet but not a Sig MPX. My opinion Don't get butt hurt 🙃
I recently bought the PC charger and shot it for the first time today. Bad, bad, bad...lots of jams, ftf's that is magazine related but, I couldn't stop the take down pin to stop falling out onto the bench! The whole assembly shot out, it's all under spring tension and everytime I'd finish a 33rd mag, the little black pin that u pull to twist off the barrel was on the bench. Very disappointing since I brought out the hi-point 9mm carbine and shot consistently non-stop for the rest of the day!
NO WAY>>> that sounds like a fluke for sure.. was it new when you bought it? also did you clean it before you shot it the first time.. i only say this is because i have had 5 of these guns over the years and never a problem.
Very very strange… bought mine new and have never have any failures. the takedown pin is tight-don’t see how it could fall out. Reach out to Ruger-they will probably send you a new one.

Got the PC Charger and was able to SBR it, get good sights, plenty of ammo to shoot, and get a suppressor for less than the MPX. For me, easy choice.

Ruger…. Even before dropping in a Volquartsen trigger and some TandemKross or M-carbo goodies. For the money, the Sig feels cheap in the hands.
