I've loved Debbie for almost 45 years.
That awkward eighties American silence when Eddie turned out to be Debbie's valentine.... lol.
when did you guys break that stereo type of black-white date?

She never said he was HER valentine, and there wasn't any actual gap in sound from the audience. LoL
she being herself just make this Monologue incredible
eddie murphy dressed up as a love fairy has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen
Debbie is my valentine, always! I love this woman!
Debbie is always cool.
0:42 didnt know Kitty Forman was Debbie's mom?
LOL
I remember Debbie Harry singing Johnny B Goode in a funky outfit and I think it was from SNL. I can’t find that performace anywhere. Been checking YT for it for years. Does anyone remember this performace? I wanna see it so bad!
That footage is available on Vimeo. Just search for Deborah Harry Come Back Jonee.
Thank you for mentioning it. I never would have looked for it and my life would have been lived without seeing the greatness of that performance... and I never would have heard the original version by Devo!
@@freakshopusa Just looked it up. Thank you but it is not what I was thinking of. I remember her singing Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry song) in a green/blue/turquoise outfit. The bottom of the dress was shaped like a rectangular box, the same as in the video you are speaking of. Maybe the Mandela effect has messed this up! lol I don't know!
@@MicheleBartonThomas well, Come Back Jonee shares some lyrics with Johnny B Goode, so that might be part of the confusion.
That and the Mandela effect. Lol
It's also possible the performance you recall might be from Letterman or some variety show. 🤔
@@freakshopusa Maybe this is the performance I saw and I am just misremembering it a bit. I was barely a teen when this aired. Yea, she says "Johnny B Good" in the song. I definitely remember that rectangular dress. But I swore it was blue/green/turquoise. Anyway, thanks for the info because it was fun watching this on Vimeo. And I see there are some other videos of her on Vimeo that I have never seen before!
This episode is free on peacock. You could watch the episode, or the one where blondie was musical guest. It’s probably in one of those two
They would have made the most beautiful children
They did
bite your tongue
You know damn well Eddie wasn't hating this sketch at all. ;)
the whole episode of this show is on vimeo, not all that great though. i did like debbie harry doing ''love TKO'' though
FUCK, SNL was TRYING HARD between '80-'85! IF SNL is a twin engine plane, then comedy is ONE engine AND the music guests are the OTHER engine! (and sometimes, their music guests STUNK / STINK still!)
Blondie was a great band. Perhaps it would have been best to keep the music guests separate? You know what was a favorite episode of mine during that period though? When Rickles came in and just destroyed the whole set lol. He didn't care, and the cast went along with it lol. "DIE BY MYSELF HUH?? I HOPE EDDIE MURPHY ROBS YOUR HOUSE!!"
Language
Harley Quinn vibes from her in this clip.
Madonna 5 1. Debbie 5 2
I guess those actors pretending to be her parents was suppose to be funny.. I had to look up what her parents looked like,, not these two for sure.... skit gone bad. See Debbie with the Muppets,, that came off really nice. Debby always a heart throb.
this was the worst season in the history of snl
Not funny
Lame
Why because Debbie kissed a black guy
@@gymrat2064 I have seen several short videos of Debbie Harry and I don't know why but she didn't worry about kissing different people: to a Japanese tv presenter in his chin, to a old fat interviewer in his mouth, and here she almost Kissed him in his mouth too.
