That's a good day of fishing. Don't matter if it was schoolies or not, that's some action right there. Good shit bro
Glad to you back up in Montauk in what seems to be better health. Tight lines
glad you're feeling better. It helps me realize what's important
gfro6 thanks man yeah stuff can happen out of nowhere. I was very close to still being in a hospital now. Very close. But I lucked out.
Glad to see your back and in good health Rich👍🏻 I'm always routing for you Brotha
Thanks bro:) I hope your catching!
great video man. I just caught myself some strip bass in nor cal. went out for redtail perch but caught myself a 15 pound striper. fish on!
Stay healthy and safe. Really enjoy your videos!
Thanks man glad to hear tight lines.
Glad to hear that you're feeling better great video as always to me it's not the size of the fish you catch it's the adventure you took to get there 👍🏻👊🏻🤘🏻😎💯🎣
Luv ur vid have same setup as u St Croix pole is my most expensive pole i have ever bought please continue with your surf quest.
Nice camera work, and awesome fishing.
Going fishing this weekend... maybe I'll be able to get into some stripers, or hybrids. Probably not at this time of year (at Lake Whitney).
keep putting in that work brother. great videos!!
Great video - you hear the clicking during the video - I had the same issue - remove the camera from your head mount by sliding out the connection - on both sides of the little raised strip in the connector on the flat piece - take two small strips of duct tape and put it there - small doesn't take much - then when you slide the camera in the clicking will stop as you closed up the space - good luck and happy fishing.
great job, I can't wait until I can get up there. There's no fish here in cape may
The blues up in sailsbury mass are on fire yesterday it wa fire 30 pounders broke off ten times got two in the boat it was awesome come down here I would take you on my 27 center console
Well worth the effort for sure.....made me hungry watching...
glad to see your channel growing! I just got back from puppy drum fishing (redfish) had a video up from yesterdays trip and today's trip will be today, check it out!
Rich:
I did find the JBL Double agent 2.5/1.5 one piece reversible camo wetsuit on Ebay, though the description is a bit sparse. How are the wetsuits sized, Small, Medium, Large, etc.? I've never used a wetsuit before. How does your JBL double agent suit compare to a really good pair of stocking or boot foot waders, for overall dryness and warmth? Wood you wear them through the winter? Thanks for the extra info, greatly appreciated.
Nice stripers man! Great video!
Thanks bro tight lines!
Happy your back in good health. Also where do you get your flat back shads from?
Thanks bro but Flatback shads I think are discontinued. Some retailers still have left over stock though that they sell. I would try cabelas, bpshops, Amazon maybe.
Hey there
first off thank you for all your videos really appreciate all that can be learned from basic observation which you reveal
here is a question which may be uncool
but here goes
how did you access the south side
where did you park
is it a place where we can park or do you have to know someone
thank you
Hello Rich -
Not sure what caused you to suffer from a collapsed lung, but glad to see you are up and at em doing what you love on the water. Bravo, brother, keep up the great work! Curious to know what brand of waders are you using in this video? They have a camo vibe to them, very cool! Are they neoprene? Stay healthy.
Hey Michael yeah just a spontaneous genetic disorder my two older sisters have the same thing and after my second incident which occurred off Montauk Light house in the dark in my kayak i committed to surgery to remove the defective portion of my lung and went from 90% to less then 5% of it ever happening again but im still in my 5week recovery so only time will tell how well the surgery went. In this video im actually wearing a JBL reversible wetsuit neoprene. Thanks for the feedback tight Linezzz
Hello Rich...
Regarding your lung surgery, WOW! Good for you for taking the bull by the horns and moving forward with the surgery! You have balls, my friend! Godspeed for a complete recovery! Regarding your JBL wetsuit, what is the actual model/make of of the one you have and where did you get it from? Is it one or two pieces? A cursory search showed many similar looking wetsuits. Also, what do you use cover your feet (to keep you completely dry)? All of the suits I came across are footless. Thanks again!
M
Thanks Michael Micinilio but the wetsuit is a one piece JBL Double agent 2.5/1.5 one piece reversible camo wetsuit. The one side is like an open ocean blue camo and the other side is like the camo you see here in the video. I don't know how many that still have in stock I believe they were discontinued but I'm sure you can fine something similar.
Michael Micinilio for my feet I wear neoprene booties or SIMs gator socks. Then I have a pair of wading boots that I wear on my feet.
How many ounces do you usually throw in those conditions? By the way, like the editing and music, reminds me of Casey neistat editing!lol
Is that a Triumph you're using? If so, how do you like it? I use a 10'6" Mojo for the south shore and was thinking of getting a Triumph for the north shore.
Nice video, willing to move around really paid off. Good stuff thank you. One question, what were the swim baits you used?
Thanks bro. Berkley Flatback shads were the bait but the prob is they are discontinued. Some online retailers have left over stock though. I cleaned out tackle warehouse I believe though haha.
Ok thanks lol.
That's a long walk. I never went out that far. The walk back is the pain
Haha yeah the walk back is the worst.
Have you ever used a flasher with a tube cause I used one in the ogunquit channel in Maine and I got 5 in 1 hour last week
awesome vid and loved the casey neistat style. whats the song called?
Hello I know this may not be the freshest idea on your mind since it was so long ago but I was wondering when fishing Manchester reservoir what baits or spots would u recommend to fish this time of year, I recently went there and was only able to catch a two lb bass in 2 hours any information about this place will really help me the next time I fish there
can you use a 4000 size with 11ft out here? thanks for the video great detail.
good job keep it up man
that day the south side was good over by browns solid blitz for a good part of the day
O really, nice yeah I was way past that and was off the water around 3pm. I didn't see any activity there in the Am or the afternoon on my way back.
I would bet that bit off tail was from a bluefish. They almost always hit the tail for me.
always like outgoing tide? I thought incoming was better cuz bait fish come in. should I come out beginning of outgoing. tide makes a huge difference right? thanks for any info.
Lorna de Lannee well an outgoing tide can really get the fish feeding because it will pull out the bait. I can say that in my opinion the best time day or night is the last 2-3hrs of the outgoing and first 2-3hrs of the incoming. If you get out there say an hour before low I like to fish into low tide then fish an hour or two into the incoming and that will really help me know for the following day what tide the fish are feeding on.
nice video...need bigger waves
I think you may have pushed out past the fish a few times...focus on the white water, even if its only a few feet deep
Nah there wasent much life in close. Sometimes I find fish in a couple feet of water along these spots especially right under the white water but not on this day.
what size hook or jig head is good for the flat back shad
okay thanks so much for the reply
what editing software do you use?
Adobe premier pro cc
and hope u feel better
What size rod are you using if I may ask?
9' medium fast action.
ur thoughts on a 9ft vs 10ft rod for jigging the surf?
NJBassin It really is all based on action but if I was only ever allowed to fish with one Rod forever from the surf I would choose a 9 or 10ft medium fast action 1/2oz to 3oz. When I first went to college I tried to keep my fishing gear limited my freshman year and bought a 9ft triumph 1/2-21/2oz medium fast action and it was a great all around Rod for fishing small and large plugs to match the hatch.
A ten footer might giving you more distance but in the end I think line diameter and capacity would be key. When I first started using my 250 Van Staal way back I originally always spooled it with 50lb power pro braid but after reading articles and hearing guys change to 30lb braid or even 20! For more distance I down graded to 40 and man all I can say the thinner diameter makes a huge difference in casting distance.

nice view
whats up with the leggings man lol.
It's a wetsuit. Keeps me warm so I can be in the water for hours.
