      Yeah, it sounds pretty damn good even compared to the RS. I was impressed. Time to upgrade my Spyder!

    I went from a 981 gt4 to the gt4rs and it’s definitely at least twice the experience. I’ve had it for over a year and still smile like the day I got it.

      I would not trade my 4RS for a 992 GT3. It is a phenomenal car.

      @@paintballplayer700I own both the GT4 RS and 992 GT3, and the manual in my 992 GT3 makes it special. My Spyder RS is extra special for its own obvious reasons. My 992 GT3 RS is super high performance, but it's so refined that I have to really push it to feel the speed and get a similar visceral experience. My other Porsches always have the visceral nature present.

    Best car channel on RUclips in many ways, love to see you pushing the cars and telling us what you think. RS for me! The induction noise alone, this gives me goosebumps honestly

    From the Cayman S or R 987.2 I have always preferred them to the Carrera...the GT4/GT4 RS are pure lust

    I think the most important thing we've learned from this video is the best spec for a GT4 RS is white, covered in rubber marks from a track day. Wow! it looks good like that!
    Both lovely, kudos to the owners for enjoying them as intended!

    Thanks very much for the comparison video! It's not surprising that for an additional 100K the RS is a better car. Spend another 100K for a GT3RS and it will be better in every way than a GT4RS. That's how the Porsche hierarchy works and how,
    once addicted to the brand, customers lust for and aspire to own a model higher in the pecking order.

    I’m surprised you have not tested a Cayman/GT4 with shortened gears. It seems like the choice mod (like your NSX) for these vehicles.

      Add Gt3 manifold, lightweight aluminum flywheel, fabspeed headers, flash the chip... Bilstein R9 shocks... You're getting pretty close... 492,000 miles on mine and the engine is all original... You're at Sebring on any on ramp .. Best car I've owned... Looking at 718 GTS 4.0. Perhaps The EV thing will be reconsidered by Porsche now that the woke crew has been... Discontinued...😅

      @@johnrussell3986 Do you mean GT3 throttle body? And what are Bilstein R9 shocks? They're usually called B6, B8, etc. If you've got nearly half a million miles on a cayman, is there anywhere we can see that? I'm interested to see how it's holding up and what maintenance it has required

    So cool to see a GT4RS with so many added modifications despite how crazy the car already is from factory, and a non-Weissach Pack spec as well!
    It might be controversial but I really dislike the look of the CF hood and hate that you can't fully paint over it like you can on the Spyder RS w/ WP, and ultimately the added CF doesn't translate to an extra $13k imo...

    My personal experience has been that the GT4RS is better, but is not 100k better.

    You need to map your your friction circle. You can download the data using PTA for any vehicle that has sports chrono. If you don't understand your driving limits its hard to know your optimum suspension set up and adjustments. Your friction circle, if donut shaped shows you are using all available grip at all times. In other words as a driver you have to drive to your full potential and grip, when you are confident of this and have measured it - this is the time to do mods. Modify driver first before modifying car. Americans talk HP and mods, Europeans talk grip and seat time.

    The cars may feel a bit different, as the build spec's are quite a distance apart, but it appears you may have found your personal threshold limit in this testing.

    • @Zygrene
      @Zygrene  Месяц назад

      The two cars are actually set up pretty similarly other than the MR suspension on the GT4. I was the main limiting factor. Next time we'll test these cars on a track that's familiar to me.

    Both cars have terrible understeer in stock form…

    • @mattyp3119
      @mattyp3119 Месяц назад +1

      In, OEM form using factory settings of the already adjustable suspension: yes they understeer. It's easy to dial out: 2.5° camber + using the soft/mid settings on sway bars and having a bit more tire pressure in the back it goes into perfection
