Never heard of 15-Minute City before. Interesting concept. Off to a good start, this area is looking great and this Map is awesome. Can't wait for the Towncenter. And yeah, detailing 🙂👏 What is the asset at 27:13? It looks so nice, I think I have to get it.
finally someone who enjoys watching pedestrians use paths as much as me! i wish there was some way to see how many pedestrians use a path per week (without parks)
I bet those empty lots between bike paths will become pedestrian wonderlands with benches on the side & a dose joy magic. Would love more close up Shots in your builds, thanks for the cinematics. My favorite CS build so far. Thanks!
This reminds me of the Soviet Microrayon, which I love! The idea of the Soviet microdistrict was to create green neighborhoods that offered everything needed for a good life, including services, commerce and parks. The biggest difference was the greater density of the classic pre-built apartment midrises, which allowed for more efficient service coverage. I love Soviet residential urbanism deeply, despite its infamous sameness. It was one of the greatest examples of urbanism and architecture in service of the people, at an industrial scale.
I came from Phil's stream last night and so this is the first video on your channel for me to check out (technically the second, since I did watch the trailer :D), as you recommended to me :) And I must admit, I am already in love, even if I, to be honest, haven't even watched through all of the video yet ❤ This project is immediately very special for me and here's why: I am a late diagnosed autist, which means that I have and always had and probably always will have difficulties with certain things in daily life. Some of the smaller and bigger situations that a human person in our society usually experiences regularly are relatively stressful for me and often generate much more anxiety than they'd normally need to. I, for example, haven't gotten around to getting a driver's license (yet - I do hope that this will change sometimne though). And my autism is relatively mild, so there are others out there who probably have even greater difficulties than I do. Now, I absolutely do not want to complain about this, there are also many things about my autism that i actually really love in some way, but it undeniably does have a severe impact on my life in both positive and negative directions. This is why walkability and pedestrian access is something I personally really dream of. The ability to get things done easily and quickly even without a car, and ideally without the need to cram into horrendously overfilled transit, would be absolutely invaluable to me. I currently live in rural germany, so I know how it feels to *not* have that :D Walkability here is okay, but public transit and "easy" access to certain things is almost non-existant, broadly speaking. I think this really augments my dream of living in some place where I can just reach almost everything by walking and access to most things is relatively trivial. (I am not sure my choice of words here is really ideal, but I hope my point comes across anyways.) The second thing that is super important for me personally is a connection to nature. That is the huge plus of the place where I currently live, I can just walk for a couple of minutes and then find myself basically in the middle of some forest with _almost_ nothing and noone around me. Nature really really really helps me to just... disconnect. Phase out. Calm down. Hard to describe. So having tons and tons of nature, trees, flowers, bushes, green space is also pretty important for me personally. 🤝(Though I don't think my name does lend itself very nicely to be included in your build. I'd recommend a name like "Ada Lovelace" instead, if anything, because in many ways I think it fits both me and you/your channel very well. Or maybe you come up with some extra beautiful name :D Oh well.) So yeah... sorry for this pretty long read (though i must admit my comments often get that long ^-^), but I sort of felt the need to explain why I immediately love this project :) Looking forward to following it! Thank you for making these videos and investing your time, energy, effort, passion into it, much much appreciated :)
Hello 👋🏻 Thank you for coming over. I love the reasons you love Mordalgo! 😍Thank you so much for sharing your story. This means a lot. 🥰 I welcome long comments. Looking forward to getting to know you more. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
I really loving it! Great concept and work. I think the residential area doesn't even need any car access to work - except service vehicles and maybe public transport.
I think my favorite part of this is the tiny commercials zones with roads on either side - something about that is hitting right for me. Such a good start! Can't wait to see where this goes! 👏👏👏
I just found this series. So exited for the concept of a 15 minute city and for the spotlight on alternative city planning! Going to binge watch the playlist now ;)
Interesting concept, really good to see less cars in CS. Sometimes i get upset with the amount of noise pollution in my cities, even when I try to give more options to people. Will try to apply the concept in my 500 hab city and in my 120k hab Thanks!😁
@@JoyBuildsCities since I'm on console I won't be able to replicate the concept in an exact copy. But at least the design and the train of thought behind it, I can apply 😊
Thanks!! I'm subscribed to a lot of wonderful creators, and slowly watching at least one video of each every time I sit to relax and watch. A lot of Farming Simulator creators too, but I'll check him this weekend 😁
Fair, I am in the US and I have to drive 20 min to get to a shop of any kind. So my perspective is very different. Love the ides of being to walk to everything.
Your channel just came up on my recommended list! Huge CS fan (1200+ hrs). I have always thought about doing a pedestrian city like this. I didn't know zonable paths existed! I started to think about using European buildings with wandering paths for the city! Sort of a connected bunch of English Villages (Cotswold?!) or Paris if you are of a more urban bent. My biggest problem is I suck at detailing. I watch Few Candy and just give up. Thanks for the links to 15 min cities. The final cherry, My favorite map in the workshop! I can't count the number of times I have used Huahine!
I am in LOVE with your building style! I might make my wife watch this video. I want my cities to be beautiful but I just don't have the eye or patience for it so as city planner I've decided to bring her on to aid in the design and architectural processes. She's never played the game before just the other day when we started a new city together so she has yet to get to know the game. This and FewCandy's series would be super for her to learn how the game can be used to make aesthetically pleasing cities. You're gonna hit it big, I can tell already. I wish you all the luck with the channel and look forward to see more of your content 🤝 -Alice
Great work ! 🤝 I love the idea of the 15 minute city and can’t wait to see how it translates. I also really liked the format - doing the functional building ‘half’ followed by detailing ‘half’ worked really well.
I chuckle every time you call something cute. It's cute. lol👏 This is a great idea! I will try in an area my current new build (in which the historic area is loosely based on Sebring Florida's downtown area. plus St Augustine, Fl and Charlotte, NC). Why did I say all of that info? idk.
@5:35 you actually removed all trees too. thoses trees are annoying even when you love the planet. you still can add new trees later. obviouslty you won't do it that way in real life ^^
You could definitely set up an intentional grid that would deter through traffic. And I believe Consol players are getting the new DLC’s this summer, so then you’d have access to the pedestrian roads.
What a discription dysfunctional mess. They're designed to keep you there to a point if you leave more than once a year you'll be find social credits Oxfordshire UK I'd currently about yo trial them

Looks very promising. Though the grass texture of the theme looks a bit weird when zoomed in, I really like walkable cities!
Thank you! That’s on purpose. I think it almost makes everything sparkle. ( it’s a theme by E6GSY)
