TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - B 24

In today's gospel Jesus corrects the Pharisees who labor over small traditions of the faith but ignore the major traditions. As everyone knows, our Catholic faith is based on both Scripture and Tradition. Today, Pope Francis is "poo-pooing" tradition. He says we must focus on the future. But it's not either/or, it is both/and. His "focus," however, is contaminated by the heresy of Modernism, which ignores tradition. In doing so, it ignores eternal truths that do not change. This false focus has led Pope Francis to embracing what the world today says is right or wrong. He is causing great confusion which is from the devil and is leading many to abandon the perennial faith of the Catholic Church. In today's homily, I, therefore, look at what our attitude must be in this situation.
