As someone who has been flying the FS Labs Concorde for many years I enjoyed your video very much. A couple of tips if I may. When starting the climb and acceleration at FL280 autothrottles should be off. Apply full dry power and pitch the nose up. Engage reheats in pairs - outer and then inner. Done so as to reduce impact on pax. Adjust pitch to maintain vMo. Once through Mach 1 engage MAX CLB and the AFCS should automatically adjust pitch for you whilst keeping close to vMo. Reheats off at Mach 1.7. Concorde will continue to climb at 200-1000fpm depending on outside temp and weight. FL600 wasn't achieved that often. After landing and exiting runway turn off 2 and 3 and raise nose one notch. Done to reduce chance of damage as it was very close to the ground. And as another poster said approach speed should be around 150-160kts with around 10-13T fuel remaining. Look forward to your next flight.
@@flightdeck2sim possibly lack of real-world data. Enjoy your next hop to Barbados but avoid Bermuda. I believe they're after you after laying a sonic boom over their island. :-)
@@flightdeck2sim I'm currently flying KIAD-TBPB and climb rate at FL550 is just 30fpm with ISA deviation -15C which Concorde loves. With 29T remaining I'm burning 19.8T per hour. Might be useful for comparison. The fuel burn figures for FSL Concorde P3D v3 are very accurate. Oh, and I'm handling fuel management myself. All tanks and switches work just like the real one.
@@flightdeck2sim sorry, one final tip. When you're around 190nm from destination the procedure to descend is this. 1) Engage ALT HOLD. A/T OFF. Reduce N2 to 94% until 360kts is reached. 2) Engage VERT SPEED and a gentle descent starts. At 350kts engage IAS HOLD (above VERT SPEED). Descent rate will increase to maintain 350kts. At Mach 1.5 furthe reduce N2 to 77%. Descent rate will increase significantly. 3) Passing Mach 1 reduce throttles to idle power. Descent rate of 6-7000fpm will result. 4). Reduce to 250kts once below 10,000ft.
Did this flight on holiday in 2004, not on Concorde but an American Airlines 737 (I think). Was supposed to stay overnight in NYC but due to a delay from Heathrow we weren't able to so to this day the only bit of the US I've seen from outside an airport was a couple of car parks between terminals
I've watched your 3 Concorde videos like 10 times and it's really helpful to learn the plane. I still have some questions but I'll be ready to fly it in no times !
I was lucky enough to have flown on Concorde in 1984 between Heathrow and JFK..the trouble is that I was so plastered that I can hardly remember it. I do remember asking for another bread roll and got a glass of Cognac instead..I didn't complain. I remember it as being very comfortable and not cramped at all with good food, and tons of booze. I was 23 so very very lucky
53:15... "Remember the nosewheel is (...) behind the aircraft". Well, that would suck tremendously, I reckon ;). Great content, as usual. Thank you, Cap! :)
Do a stream 1 day where you go badass and fly supersonic throughout by not following noise regulations. That would be amazing. In addition is there a chance you could do Paris to Rio? That was a famous route.
I saw you go through the cabin once, not sure if I missed it, but next time you decide to stream this bird, you should show off the displays at the front of the cabin that show speed and altitude to the passengers! Pretty cool.
Wow, setting up the flight plan with those waypoints looks like a massive pain in the ass. Did they never modernise Concorde, were there plans too? Not sure when "modern" MCDU's came into use.
Hi! Congratulations on the Concorde videos, they are very helpful and very well explained. I'm creating an xchecklist following your steps and I have a little problem, let's see if you can help me. In the Roof Panel, I cannot activate the row of switches of Auto Stab 1, Art Feel 1, yes the Elec Trim 1 and 2 are activated, but the previous and subsequent ones of Art Feel 2 and Auto Stab 2, are activated but then it goes back down to Off ... Do you know what it can be? Well, continuing with the above, I cannot start engine 4, probably because of the above. I give Start to the 4th, it goes up to 4 or 5 (not 67 as you say it has to be) and it goes down again to 0 .. As I have the HP Valve in Open, so that the Recirculation are in Shut , not everything works this ... I also can't activate the "elevons" and neither can the "rudder", below. Another I have managed to solve, which was that when I put the Engine Recirculation Valves in Shut, it was put but immediately afterwards it was put in open again. In the end I have found out that in the Roof Panel, the HP Valves have to be in Open, and now it does let the Recirculation be set to Shut. (For if it helps someone) Thanks again! Greetings
This is a real route that is flown by jet blue and was by the Concorde a matter a fact it has a Concorde museum right next to the airport with a Concorde
Just an idea, but why don't you invite a real Concorde pilot on board (after Covid probably) to join you for a flight. That would be fantastic, certainly for us viewers to watch and listen to you both as the flight progresses. That would be a brilliant video to watch. It's brilliant to watch anyway, but it would be even more brilliant to have a real Concorde pilot on board!
@@WillFibs well I didn’t know that! Thanks for sharing. Surprised they made them higher if it’s simple table like with the 737 which shows your VREF based off just your gross weight and Flap Setting
I'm considering purchasing this for xplane 11. I have the DC designs concorde for p3d and it's pure rubbish. I think the colimata will be much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the info! I wonder why Colimata made the VREF speeds so high! Maybe a limitation in XP11, I'll try and apply these tips next time.

Such an amazing part of Aviation history- an aircraft too modern for its time. A shame so few had the honor of flying on it.

The pilots are all pretty old now and probably retired, so the chances of finding someone like that are less likely than winning a lottery.

Just letting you know, you're about 40 knots too fast on approach. I wouldn't rely on the Colimata menu for your VREF.
Oh really? So the VREF should’ve been 160kts? That seems very slow!
