And completely misrepresent the history. The house was in disrepair 70 years ago when Hank bought it. Hank kept his horses there but lived somewhere else. This was never Hank's home. Same with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. They lived in a different structure on the same property. I'm not saying the historical structure shouldn't be preserved, but it's been in disrepair for nearly a century. More fear mongering from Tucker. You need to hate the dumb libs! Hank Williams took country music to the mainstream. His songs crossed over from the country charts and charted in popular music. It is not unusual to hear his music in movies and commercials. He was not the father of country music. Many came before, Jimmy Rodgers comes to mind.
I completely agree. Graceland is a museum so why not this home? He was like the King of country music. It should be preserved and open to the public for all to learn and enjoy and remember.

My great grandfather was the biggest Hank Williams fan on the planet. While on their honeymoon, my great grandparents visited Hank‘s grave where they ran into his sister, who invited them back to her house for dinner. Afterwards, she gave my great-grandfather the suit Hank wore when he accept his first Grammy. It stayed in my family until he and mamaw both passed, at which point we sold it to cover funeral costs. Looking back, I wish someone would have just paid the funeral costs so we could have kept that little piece of history in our family.
Bottom line is, let’s not lose anymore of our heritage as a nation than we already have.

Me and my family used to live in a two-story house, back when I was a kid the house was over 120 years old one of the first houses built on the hill, I sold it to a good friend of mine a lot cheaper than what I could have got out of it, but this man totally restored this house, and put it back in shape, I was so proud to see the house redone, it's not about money all the time, sometimes it's about the object, just thought I would share this little story with people,
The opposite happened to my grandfather's house.
It was built 1890. Two story, 4 fireplaces, still operating indoor hand pump water well.
Torn down for a industrial park on the original 640 acres.

I thought that was the kind of thing that conservatives applauded -- profits before people, before the common good, and even before the preservation of history. So stop complaining. I remember seeing this home in one of Faith Hills albums and then she interviewed it afterwards loving the home her kids grew up there . I can’t imagine as a mother who had this house and the history she’d allow it . The home is featured in her greatest hits album 2007 . I give Kid Rock more props .
Unfortunately Faith and Tim are giant libs... Apparently they couldn't care less about it since they didn't bring the issue to light. They probably would have made a "such a shame..." Statement once the house was gone!

I too had a "old" home - but not as historic. Built in the early 1860s (1862) and added onto. Only 2 families ever owned the home & property up until 2003 when I sold it. A 3rd generation member of the first family became a pitcher for NY Yankees and Detroit Tigers. I had to fight City Hall that wanted to condemn the property simply to widen a 2 lane, 3 mile long city road that had no fewer than 5 schools and 6 churches along it / or close enough that children had to cross the 2 lane street (home was surrounded by a subdivision). I won.

I’ve been in that house multiple times. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill owned the property, but never lived in it. They mostly used it for storage of tour equipment and for various photo shoots/get together’s.
Just based on the fact that it made it through the Civil War should save it… Hank owning it and the adjacent properties should be a cherry on top.
So what .... It has post n beam construction and an eliptical staircase. It would make a good music 🎵🎶 museum

I was adopted at 5 from a not so good background and remember my Dad who adopted had these albums and I grabbed the first one I saw and played it. It was Your cheatn heart from Hank himself. Ive been a fan since and was sad to hear that this voice had passed away long before I was born. This man is an icon and legend to not just country music but all music. If folks from the nation, specifically country artists do not come to defend this historic home then they’re a bunch of cowards.
I’ve listened to country and bluegrass since being a small child but recently since I hit 40 I’ve been listening to old country form the 20-30’s to the 70’s and it’s way better then most modern music. Don’t get me wrong I still live Alan Jackson and Garth and so forth but older country just has more sole to it. Hopefully some country artist will come Together to help save this history

My parents bought a house during the 50's after myself and sister were born. Back in 2019 the new owners of home knocked it down and built another house. I was devastated & realized the homestead we loved and cherished was gone forever.

I use to go up to just look at the house from my car. But not anymore.
I used to live in a 50's era house in the suburbs of Chicago. A rambler with a courthouse in the middle. House had a sandstone front. A real eye catcher on the street since every other house was mostly siding. I came back many years later to find 90% of the houses on that street were 2 story brick monster houses that took up almost the whole lot (almost no grass). It was sad to see. Now the few houses unchanged probably have people waiting for the owners to pass on so they can build their monstrosity on the lot too.
Oh I'm sorry! I've been trying to find my grandmother's house in Auburn, she had a wonderful place, I used to spend the summers with her. I went 'driving' on Google, couldn't find it. My friend suspects they tore it down! OH how could they?

I can understand that. I live in an old church. Before it was an old church, it was a school house. I would love to restore it. It was built around 1866, but I can't afford to do it. It costway to much to have one restored. If I were much younger, I would attempt it on my own. It cost less to build a new one. So sad.

When we as children are growing up. We encounter houses, landmarks, and such. Like this . With reminders of stories, legacies, and history of people that have succeeded with their dreams . Proof that hard work friendships hardships and dedication will and does pay off with success.. it is good to see community and non community of the area stepping up about these situations. Houses get mowed down all the time, even heritage houses, so if it’s in a bad enough state of repair it might be justified to mow it down and rebuild. 🤷🏻♂️
