I need a big plate of hot food. Too many places are cutting their portions due to unbelievable record inflation. So I've been cooking at home more too and enjoying it so much.
as a brown girl who lives in houston, aga’s is my absolute favorite indian restaurant- but the wait times are always insane! suuuuper long lines during weekends and evenings
As a brown boy who lives in Houston, I can totally agree, that’s why I take it to go and surprisingly by the time I get back which is about 10-15 mins and my food is still pretty hot
If you have to wait that long in restaurant cause of a big queue (not because of bad customer service), then its definitely worth it. God i need to visit Houston

So glad you went to Buc-ee's :) My family became absolutely obsessed with them ever since Buc-ee's expanded to Florida. Now, every time my Mom comes to visit, she has to stop at both the St. Augustine and Daytona locations to get food and merch. For Christmas, we stopped at both to get different kinds of Buc-ee's wrapping paper XD Like my mom says, "It's not just a gas station, but a literal stop you plan for." It's no surprising they have such a huge following now, and I am so happy to have one so close to my house.

the peshawari karahi is basically a curry dish made in this big round pot (the karahi), kind of like a wok. Its called peshawari karahi because its a famous dish in Peshawar, a very old city in the North of pakistan where I'm from :) Glad you liked it!

you gotta try tex-mex food because it’s so good and also you should go to an independent bbq spot that’s not bucees because you will be blown away trust me- a born and raised texan

Depends where you live in Canada! Vancouver and Toronto are super diverse in terms of cuisine and I can personally vouch for the Asian food in both cities

Good video. As a native Houstonian, I agree to your list except for the first two places. So many better places for burgers / Banh mi's that are actually in Houston. Ella's Shipley's is 👌🔥.
Tornado Burger is the best burger for the money, anywhere. Vietwich is good, but expensive! Don Cafe on Bellaire is the best bahn mi. Shipleys donuts are the worst I have ever eaten in my entire life!

The last place you go for BBQ in the Houston area is Bucees . Ten at least better places to eat BBQ.
From a native Houstonian, you did a great job of going places that people really go to all the time. You also went to a couple of places I have never been to and now feel like I MUST GO.

Wow… so many restaurants missed. This is a very touristy trial. Musafeer for starters is a must, and there are a dozen restaurants in Katy. The viet food is also killer in Houston. Aga’s is legit but damn… you missed a lot.
I’m suppose to be going to H-Town in May. Definitely will be trying these wonderful places out .💯💯🤤

Bori is one of my favorites! Great quality meat and ambiance in the restaurant! The owner Kevin is a great guy and always super accommodating!
Also, try Shipley's in the morning next time when they are still warm! The best donuts hands down!

best crawfish place near houston, idk exactly where it is i jus go there lol. famous crab. the flavor is so good, gotta get potatoes and corn with it. in the bag, the juice has garlic slices and everything. so good.

If you want great cheap sushi I highly recommend top sushi on Westheimer. They have a happy hour from 4-7 and 9-11. It’s probably my favorite sushi spot.

I live in the Woodlands, TX and those food places are like an hour drive from me!! Houston Traffic is real.
Yeah Buc-ee’s Banana Pudding is pretty bad compared to “most” homemade Banana Puddings down here in Texas. No bananas, virtually no wafers. Where I came from we generally use Vanilla Pudding as the base since bananas with banana pudding together is a little one note.

The Shipley’s on Wertheimer near Dairy Ashford has some of the best beignets in Houston. You hit some really great spots. ❤️
