The following year when he played the whole game the defense gave up the lead, just like with the niners this year. Remember the whole run the ball thing came only after the "legion of boom" let Brady carve them up in consecutive scoring drives.

This game was just terrible, and it showed how important a functioning secondary really is to a championship team. But I can't say I'm surprised though; the secondary has been a problem since the beginning of Shanahan and Lynch's careers in SF. I think it might be time to draft some good CBs this upcoming offseason, but yeah you're right. It sucks, but that's the way it turned out. Enjoy the win!

For sure, bro. Our secondary had some major holes in it throughout the season. But the pass rush surely bailed us out PLENTY of times.
This game was just terrible, and it showed how important a functioning secondary really is to a championship team. But I can't say I'm surprised though; the secondary has been a problem since the beginning of Shanahan and Lynch's careers in SF. I think it might be time to draft some good CBs this upcoming offseason, but yeah you're right. It sucks, but that's the way it turned out.
