  • What is metabolic alkalosis? It is caused by an increased bicarbonate HCO3− concentration in the blood that elevates blood pH above 7.45. This most frequently results from loss of hydrogen H+ ions.

Hello, thanks for that great information. My pH has been high at 8.0 for about two years now. I don’t know how to get it to go down. I eat all Vegan food. Mainly Chickpeas, vegetables, and fruits. Any advice? Thank you.

Very Easily explained this confusing topic , amazing 😍 , But 1 correction In Respiratory alkalosis mechanism There Is Increase Co2 So there is Increase in PH (if i am not wrong)

Respiratory alkalosis is defined by a pH >7.45 due to a respiratory mechanism, which is the excessive loss of pCO2 by respiration. Consequently, there is a decrease in pCO2, not an increase. This is what occurs, for example, when you hyperventilate.
In the video, they don't mention respiratory alkalosis. Instead, they're discussing the compensatory mechanism that results from metabolic alkalosis, which is respiratory acidosis (explained at 5:01).
      I hope this helps!
