tailoring one’s website to SEO was kind of black box testing. With Google switching things up I’m hopeful companies do better to serve their audience opposed to serving the Google SEO gods
It could be considered a waste of time pondering whether or not AI will take our job if we are pretty sure it will. Perhaps we should put energy into pushing for the new social contract that's necessary to prevent mass social unrest. Also, in the absence of a new way to provide for the people, and social unrest becomes imminent, we should be asking ourselves if the area in which we reside could become a dangerous hotspot. I hear Zuckerberg is digging a hole in Hawaii. 😅
I love the way you guys explain stuff. The coverage of AI developments has been excellent. I mostly listen via the podcast, but now like watching you guys talk about it!
Isn't google biting the hands that feed them? If publishers aren't going to get traffic from google won't they simply start opting out of both ads and indexing? What incentive will sites have to keep themselves on google if their content is simply going into a big summary?
I love so much that this podcast is now on RUclips. Keep it up
Isn't the challenge now to game the AI?
will you miss classic google search?
Yes
Yeah, at least it wasn't a commie.
Brutal. Hopefully our internet overlord will treat us well because it's in their own best interest

Replied half way ... this was addressed.
Thanks. This lands exactly on what I've been thinking about. Scary for content creators, but Google has a vested interest here though.
Was there anything else interesting at google i/o?
