  • This part of the repair actually went rather well. I located and acquired the replacement parts with relative ease and only got interrupted twice with rain.

If your like me, when you need the bearings you could go get new one by the time you find the ones on the shelf, lol. Nice repair and now your ready to hit it.

TAH-DAH Farm - parts shelf organized and used a sharpie to write implement names on boxes and bags. OCO like that I am. obsessive compulsive organizer..... thanks for watching.

      - thanks my friend. now we are back to wait for the land to dry. got 9/10ths of an inch of rain here this afternoon, good for the seed already in the ground.

There you go a repair set and a spare set. That will make sure you won’t have a bearing go bad for several years to come.

I got enough spare bearings for that thing sitting on the shelf now I could replace every bearing on it if I wanted to.

Job well done buddy! Won’t be long and another bad bearing will come to party lol. Good thinking on getting 2 more for the shelf. And greasing the shaft so the bearing will come off easier it does work! God bless you my good friend!

I didn't realize there was two rows of rolling baskets! I'll bet the front bearings are a pain to replace! The finishing tool does do a good job for you! It rains on Friday, well it rains on Friday here too and Wednesday and Monday! Thanks Soybean Farmer

CE Smith - getting the inside basket off was easy but putting it back on forced me to remove the carriage from the cultivator frame. putting the carriage back on was kind of like getting a disc gain back on a disc frame. I think I can beat next Friday's rain here and get some more seed in the ground on Thursday. that's the plan.

farmark - last year with my foolish strategy to plant late I was almost out of the prime window when I did finish. so glad I'm back on my early schedule this year. Thursday looks like my next chance to get field work and hopefully some more seed in the ground. thanks for watching.

Last week was the driest week we've had all year it felt like,I figure it'll be like last year and just rain, rain, rain.

Nick Edwards - last year I'd work up 2 or 3 acres and get it planted finishing just as the rain started. happened over and over. but that method has worked for me. takes more time with all the hook-ups and changing of implements but it gets seed in the ground. I broke this six acre filed last year into 3 different planting operations.

Looks good SBF. Hopefully it dries for you so you can get the rest of your beans in. On a bright note the rain should really help the beans you already have in the ground. Best wishes from Alberta.

big D fan - the first field I planted is up but the rows in the tractor tire marks have a bit of catching up to do. yep these rains have been useful for the seed already in the ground. thanks for being here watching.

Make a sanding file. A paint stir stick some glue and strips of sandpaper use different grits of paper on multiple sides of the sticks, I usually make several sticks at a time .

Anti-seize works great for future repairs where you don't want things to stick together such as bearings on shafts or bolts and nuts.....

    • @SoybeanFarmer3300
      @SoybeanFarmer3300  5 лет назад +1

bparsons72007 - Anti-seize is an absolute MUST when steel bolts go into an Aluminum head, spark plugs in aluminum heads can create a huge expensive repair if their threads are not completely coated with good quality anti-seize. thanks for mentioning this.

You can Noodle around on the site and might find something less expensive but then you're still going to need all of the mounting brackets I don't blame you for going after these they do an excellent job.

Drew Fish - Massey Ferguson built this model about 30 years ago. they became very popular around here to finish tobacco land before bringing up the rows. check out this video to see a huge 8 row bedder in action bringing up tobacco rows here in North Carolina. subscribe and tell'em Soybean Farmer asked you to.
