I think it was an important clip. That was Roger post-LSD, he's let go of the past, and with that including his relationship with Joan which he shows by not even sticking up for her, taking on a hands off neutral approach. It showed the Roger that doesn't like conflict, only lives for the good in life at the expense of others.
Mad Men is the best drama series, EVER!! Why the show didn't win every year is far bizarre to me. There's obviously some jealousy somewhere. I've never enjoyed a show like this one. It was fabolous. Extraordinary!! Words can't explain!! I doubt they'll be another like this one. It's sensational!!
Because a lot of the viewers aren't or weren't smart enough to appreciate the show. I was in my teens when this came out. I didn't find all that interesting. I gave it another chance in my late 20s. My opinion now is Mad Men is the best show ever
I went through my early teen years in the mid to late 1960s. I never got the whole Mad Men craze when it was happening, but gave it a try on Amazon Prime, and became “hooked”. While I liked all the main characters, “Roger” easily became my favorite, and he was the character that actually elicited “LOLs” from me! Mr. Slattery is outstanding as Roger--and his presence in any scene enriched it beyond words, he in many instances, carried the scene my mere presence.
I loved John Slattery ever since I saw him in Sex and the City. Seeing him in Mad Men is a delight. Roger is a great character. Mad Men is so well written. I have watched all 7 seasons about 3 times. I am addicted to Mad Men. My favorite line is when Joan says "I want love". Joan and Roger never got together because the relationship was an arrangement. John should WIN an Emmy.
You sound like me. I've watched it 3 times, as well. I'm also addicted. I don't know why I keep watching it. Guess it reminds me of the past, just a little. It's like a soul warmer to me. It does linger on you, for sure. Actual: Don, Roger, Joan, Pete, Peggy, Betty, and little Sally, should have won an award. Oh, and the guy that was wide open. The guy who cut off his nipple. Now, he was terrific. He deserved to win an award, as well. Those who can make me feel, must be doing something right.
It's funny, loved this show so much. It's Roger's character who hangs around long after. While I got Don Draper and Peggy were focus. Roger feels deepest. His character, ex war vet Kennedy era, several wives plus Joan, lost his daughter to hippies, has a kid with Joan, Bert is like a father figure, his Mother is a cold b, he believed in mateship, hits old has heart attacks and still keeps his humour. He's just so endearing. I've seen John in other roles like Churchill, Chsrlie Wilsons War and Spotlight.
And for those who didn't twig, in Mad Men Rogers wife is John's wife.....she was once with George Clooney. Another reason to think he's fab. Acting with a partner is not easy and they have some fun scene's.
You should've shown the scene where Roger Sterling fires Burt Peterson fires for the 2nd time. John Slattery is hilarious in that scene. Although, he was great in every scene he was in. The Burt Peterson character was great as a pissed of employee, he really was. What a great show.
What the hell is wrong with this interview ... look at the title ... John Slattery on being Roger Sterling ... the guys wastes 7+ minutes asking about the 3 episodes that John directed ... what happened to Roger Sterling?
What a weird clip with which to introduce the segment. Roger says like two lines, neither of which are especially deep or funny. Bizarre.
funkadunkalunk hahahaha yeah that what I thought
So true

John was so good in this show and had the best lines ever!

Roger is the best actor in Mad Men
Roger is a character not an actor
Do you Roger is the best character, or that John is the best actor?
John Slattery is a babe
@@stars111535 "Schlemiel, schlemazzel." He meant, John the best actor.
hm really I did not know that
John Slattery singing the Black Keys = Gold!
The workload of those people is amazing
Why wpuld you lead with a scene that barely uses him...

My favorite character in MM I think it's the best drama ever on TV Evey episode is great
This is the first time I heard him talk not as Roger. Hearing Hamm talk was weird, but this wasn't.

Even tho John Slattery's close to mom's age he has swagga and that makes him amazing ;)
sterlings gold!
This would’ve been a great interview at Rodger Sterling could have really talked.
Roger is my fav
For an answer to that question, watch Carrol O'Connor on "In the Heat of the Night".
What the hell is wrong with this interview ... look at the title ... John Slattery on being Roger Sterling ... the guys wastes 7+ minutes asking about the 3 episodes that John directed ... what happened to Roger Sterling?
He was great as Howard Stark, Iron Man’s father
Bad production value, and even worse interview.
" This is gonna be horrible for anyone " hahaha
The dealers always ran the car advertising business •
Oh my god, this is a terrible interview. And the interviewer asks john to sing something...dumb.
Lamho LMP Well it's tradition apparently, but I cringed as well.
The most and least sufferable people on tv
Monas mother fell down the steps
Hahah this is weird
1st.
This interviewer is awful.
"I got the love that keeps me going..."
Solomon that was the only line I could remember from that show and it was so annoying that he couldnt say that
