I love watching the documentary all three of them. There’s a line in the sky free Solo, which we all know and one that wasn’t mentioned in The video Arctic Ascent about a wall in Greenland

Alex was the best of my apprentices. He originally never imagined he'd ever free-solo but after he saw the video of me free-soloing Trango Tower barefoot during a blizzard he realized he might be able to eventually come close to being my equal. He's almost there.

I started climbing because I was encountering cliffs and mountains during my expeditions in the wilderness and felt it would be my doom since I was not trained and as a result of many concussions, I have pretty bad vertigo. For a long time I practiced but I have never been able to shake off the vertigo, which is a pretty big deal, till I discovered Mr. Honnold, afterwards, I just embraced the vertigo, life is short, you are gonna end anyways, better it be on your terms. I never looked back, and I am still alive to tell the tales, that man is a legend and he changed my life. I encourage everyone to free solo if they feel they can do it.. don't let judgements or fear dictate your life and for sure don't let youtubers dictate your life. yolo ffs

It was his responsibility, either not climb at all with his „belayer“ (not meant disrespectful, just referring to the skill level) or give her proper training in advance.

@@lumiha6461- I agree, a preventable accident and the responsibility was on Alex to oversee the much less experienced belayer (his girlfriend).

Could you imagine the missions he could accomplish had his passion been becoming a soldier, he'd be an E6 shortly after completing bootcamp. It's rare a person, their passion and the needed skill and mindset converge, when that happens you get the G.O.A.Ts

Dude... I've fallen from at least 150ft... halfway up a 300 ft face... landed on my back, knocked me out, and when I woke up I was able to walk to my car and drive home... felt fine... sore... but fine... I should probably have gone to a hospital, but, I obviously wasn't thinking right after that fall.
