I had a good chuckle when you pulled out the bandaid box. When you’re a Junk Journalist, everything has a second life. I’ll see something and I guess my eyes glaze over. Lol. Cause my 17 year old Grandson says stuff like, “Why am I getting the feeling this is gonna show up in a Journal some day?” Lol. The Journal I’m playing in right now has 2 of his shirts he grew out of as my cover. He laughs at me. But he keeps bringing me clothes he’s grown out of. Lol. It’s an addictive hobby for sure.
I just love journaling along with. I can just imagine your retreat being laugh after laugh! I find the journal cover project you did so inspiring, and thanks for answering all my questions! Ooooo that tiny journal is gonna be fun. simply sweet! The thing I love most about junk journaling is that it can be so varied from one creator to the next. Everyone brings their skills and experience into it and the results are always unique!
I sure miss everyone!!! It is so fun to see you work in one of my journals...such an honor!!! Love how your journal covers turned out....I bet they feel amazing!!! Hugs sweet friend.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who eyes up the empty boxes Gayle 😂! The bandaid box is perfect size for a mini journal; it will be so sweet. I have a collection of various small boxes just waiting to be covers! Lovely to see the delightful photos of your friends from your retreat.🥰🇨🇦
“The day without crafting is like a day without Sunshine.” I think I found my new life motto. It’s a perfect way to explain how us crafters truly feel. I love the randomness today especially the tiny journal from a bandaid box. It’s perfect size for a purse or backpack or glovebox in a vehicle, to write those thoughts down you normally can’t remember..the inspiration journal 📔 or put in a gift bag or tied with a main journal. The versatility is endless 😊 Anyway another fun morning spent in the crafting world with you♥️
Oh the memories you are adding to your retreat journal. Those glasses cracked me up every time I see them. What a hoot! I can just hear the laughter that had to fo filled that room. I love seeing little journals made. I have a box just a little bigger than yours I want to make one out of. You were just the thing I needed after helping at a long day of 4-H judging at the county fair. Have a blessed day!
Now I know why I saved a handful of those tiny little cereal boxes that I bought for my grandsons! I had thought of maybe cutting them for little journal cards, but they need to be little journals! You never disappoint!
I'm happy now that I've had my time with "Gayle" love your happy disposition along with the gift you have to craft things. As soon as you pulled up the bandaid box my mind thought "Mini junk journal" thank you for sharing your crafting ideas with us🧡
Just want you to know how much I enjoy your videos. Not only do I learn from your thought process and techniques used, it is like having a girlfriend sitting their with me chatting as we create. It is so funny I find myself shaking my head yes or no as you audition things to use or saying out loud use the red one or whatever. Keep up the good work.
Hello Gayle, wonderful MM weekly collage. I loved watching you work in your journal and seeing the picture for the retreat. My hubby got the cutest box that came with a bunch of CD's, I was staring at the box intently thinking of what a cute journal cover it would make and he said 'I suppose you want this box now', he knows me well. TFS
I love making mini journals. I have 2 jelly boxes and a peppercorn box waiting to be transformed. I have a well-trained hubby who always asks if I "want the box" lol. Fun watching the variety of things you did; thank you. 😊
Gayle I love watching you do the MM collage .. I always think crikey how are you going to fit all those things on a page but you always manage it .. you are just so creative and talented 😃
That little journal is so darling, I think my niece would love something like that. I hope we get to see you finish it. Your tool looks like a spackle spreader for drywall. We also use them to spread masa on corn husks for tamales. This is a great use for them too!
I enjoyed the little journal. I have several bandaid boxes in my collection of boxes. You see, whenever I mail or give a get well card, I put a bandaid in it. For no reason. It makes people laugh or at least smile. Just like you do. 😀
Fun pictures from the retreat. That Band-aid box journal is cute. I usually order vegetarian sushi, just to play it safe. When I make it at home, I use smoked salmon.
The collage was good. Love the little journal. I kept a small box the other day & thought about making a journal out of it. Now I know I will!! It was just a little bit bigger than the one you did. I hope you will show the completed one. TFS
Your retreat journal is just inspiring me. I have begun a journal where I am writing stories I remember my mother told me. I need to add some pictures to mine. ❤️. Love the little journal. I have saved some little boxes to make some too. Just haven’t got to them.
Hi and hugs Miss Gayle.. All you're journal covers turned out beautiful..The first one is my favorite, but that big boy cover is really cool too.. And I was already cracking up when you showed that band-aid box cause I knew exactly what you were going to do with it,lol.. You got me into looking at every box and seeing if it could have a second purpose after you told the story about the box on the side of the road you wanted to stop and get😅 I fixed Rice A Roni a few nights ago,and while it was cooking I stood in the kitchen and cute the box up for a journal- and thought about you while I did it,lol.. You are a great inspiration sweet friend..Hope Mike is getting stronger and having less coughing than he was, sending healing prayers from Kentucky💙
Always enjoy watching you do the mm collage! I like seeing how people use their journals too! And I would not of thought to make a bandaid box a journal cover! Now I will be awaiting the next one that gets used up at our house! Love it!
It's funny you did this little box journal. I just saved a box of similar size last night. Tiny book coming soon. Watching you is always a good start to my day.
Good morning Gayle. I use those hardware store spatula things also they're like spackle applicators or something or for drywall mud or something like that. I have also been saving small soap boxes and stuff to do mini journals. Oh those scrapers are great on the gelli plate too. Have a great Wednesday.
The covers turned out great! Your thumb is healing. 👍 the challenge is cute and l was thinking you should date it because it’s retreat related. I absolutely love the band aid journal. I was thinking those bird cards backed with coffee dyed papers would be perfect journal cards for it. So cute! I liked Persuasion too. Take care and TFS 💕
I have the yellow squeegee...love it...I got mine at Harbor Freight, they also have picks that I love!!! They also have great storage containers...I also watched that movie- LOVED IT
Good morning Gayle!! Hi and Hugs to you. 💜 You accomplished a lot today. Love the little box journal, so cute!! Thanks for all the inspiration today. Off to the craft she shed to get things done before it gets too hot!! Have an awesome day my friend...💜
Hi Gayle!! Love the journal covers!! I did wonder about the one that had the heavy paste on it!! I thought you might end up having to glue it!! The mini journal is going to be a cute one!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
Good morning Gayle! Right now I think your neighbor is a very lucky gal to have you to craft with! It’s a dream of mine to sit and craft with you!🥰💕💕I’m leery of sushi also, but I did eat lox and bagels when I lived in N.Y. and I’m still alive🤣 Hugs girlfriend.
Playing catch up on your video. I have an adult allergy to shell fish too. It stinks that we can no longer eat that good stuff. I'm with you as far as sushi goes. Just love spending time with you every day Gayle. 💕
I saw today that “Persuasion” is on Netflix. I love that Austen book, so I’m glad you had a good review of it and I will watch it. I loved seeing the pictures from the retreat to put names with faces. A fun idea to use the Bandaid box.
Such a cute little journal, Gayle! And the covers are gorgeous! We will have to watch Persuasion as we both like period pieces like Jane Austin. Thanks for the suggestion! 😃 Another fun period piece on Netflix, that's a series, is Brigerton. It can be racy at times, like watching a Harlequin Romance novel, but is funny and has good plot lines, much like a Jane Austin. My husband liked it, too, as it made us both laugh. Very lighthearted as compared to so many dramas and crime stories right now. Another is Virgin River. It's got some beautiful scenery, as they film in Vancouver and I really enjoy watching Annette O'Toole and Tim Matheson in it. It's got some good romance stuff for the ladies, but also some rough and tough for the guys. And if you have Amazon Prime a good one is Hart of Dixie. A really fun one that also stars Tim Matheson. That one really made us laugh; very lighthearted. It's from 2011 and has 4 seasons. I think it's on IMBD, too. Just a few more suggestions for you and Mr. A.. Hope your day is going well. Sue ❤
This retreat JJ is fun, as are your journal covers! Glad you and Mike liked “Persuasion.” I finished my Jane Austen journal a couple of weeks ago. It was a labor of love! Wish she had received more recognition during her lifetime. Such a good writer. TYFS. Be cool!
Good Morning Gayle ❤️ I love the covers!!! The little band-aid journal is going to be cute. I may have to dump out the rest of mine just to make one. LOL
I love the tiny journal and can't wait to see the finished project. Thanks for the movie review. It's hard to go wrong with Jane Austin, but I have seen it done. Your retreat journal is super special, since it houses both wonderful memories and pieces of your heart. It is a perfect example of what a journal is for.
The journal covers turned out great - even the one with the thick paste - thought maybe the paste would crack when you tried to bend it, but it seems to have done okay - Hugs.
