I went through the Saia Academy out of Harrisburg. It was a great program! The linehaul training was cool. I'm a city driver. I've been told linehaul is better pay than P&D.

Yeah, when I was in linehual starting pay was around 29.01 an hour and then 65CPM I was taking home 1600 a week with 70 hours a week when I jumped to city I was taking home 800-950 a week…

Yes. Much better. Especially after the latest pay raise. 81.5 for doubles, 86.5 for triples.

@myeshanothinjazzy a shy of 6 months OTR experience. You can apply for the academy fresh out of trucking college. All you're required is having all 3 of your endorsements within 90 days of hire.

I applied to SAIA like a week ago. How long does it take for them to get back to you?

  • @JBThunders

I left SAIA Linehaul to haul liquid bulk with Highway Transport same shit different trucking i guess. I will miss staying in hotels tho wont miss lightweight doubles over snowy east coast mountain roads.. Pro LTL tip far as hotels the CHC hotels listed by SAIA are garbage i took 5 minutes every morning after i broke my last set called nicer higher rated hotels i found on Google closer to the terminal most of them take CHC its the same negotiated rate.

How you liking highway? Did you downgrade in pay or upgrade or stay the same? But I definitely understand you on the hotel situation lol.

@@nicelife5486 same pay slightly less work tho. LTL can be high paced go go at times. Highway is pretty good so far they leave ya alone for the most part they pay you for all your time no complaints yet.

@salreyes3047 I'm out of LVS, my bid has been FON for about 3 years. 81.5 a mile for doubles right now. But I'm thinking about going back to a triples run now since they raised it to 86.5.
