    I really liked seeing someone cut away the live edge and piecing the wood together to use very little epoxy. Thanks for the great woodworking video.

    I love olive wood 17:43 . I think the best thing about watching your videos is that it’s causing my thinking to shift. I’ve watched all these people who make these large tables thinking I’d have to do it like that….meaning large. I been working on in my head how to do things on a smaller scale. You’ve helped me in this shifting of my thoughts with your tables. They come out so beautiful, the grain that shows on this table is astonishing. Thanks again for showing your work and helping other to be able to start their dream work !!

    Its definitely unique and refreshing approach of joining the slab as a puzzle, i feel more people should follow this instead of just pouring epoxy.

      The table is so beautiful! That olive wood was a great choice here. Side note: a Shinto rasp would probably be very helpful to you on shaping edges etc.

    Beautiful.
    Love the smell of Olive wood and how silky/satin it is when sawing of sanding.
    Table looks chic and simple but sophisticated.Good the pieces didnt go in the fire.

    One question: how clean does the wood have to be? Do you 100% clean the red bark as well and what about black spots in the middle of a slab? They are hard but black, should I remove them? Thank you for your content!

    This exactly I wanted to do with one of my project. I think you can make your life easier if you transfer the edge profile to a 1/4in mdf as a template and then use a router to cut it precisely. Great build!

      Thanks! I thought about doing it that way, but in the end, I decided on this method, which is a bit less accurate but I believe is faster

      @@marmotaworks in my case i am trying to avoid epoxy fill so thinking of using the router and then use wood glue. I hope it works

    Fantastic looking table. When you buff the hardwax oil with the scotch brite pas is the hardwax oil still wet? After you apply the second coat do you buff it again? if so wet or fry and do you then sand a second time? Your clips are an enjoyment to watch and it so good to see a talent like you have. I enjoy the format that you have the clips in and the humorous \cheeky moments you include. Thanks heaps for sharing with us.

      Thank you! I buff it when it's still wet, I sand it the next day after it has dried, and then apply and buff the second coat of hardwax oil.

    Btw, you might want to check out the 3m Xtract cubitron sand paper. Lasts longer, cheaper and can help to cut down on time. All around better result.

      I have tried other sanding discs, and I didn't like them very much. I will try the 3M ones you mentioned

    I never post comments on anything, but your work is amazing!
    You mentioned if there would be a way to make the matching cuts easier, thinking that if you had a way to make the cuts while both overlapping pieces are clamped together it may work! (you may need a bigger bandsaw...)

    Amazing results.. Loved the final reveal.. Enjoyed the track too.. Btw since you joined the boards when the epoxy was tacky and poured the rest of the epoxy does it actually penetrate the holes you drilled? Also the bottom supports would a bow tie insert adds more strength or your rectangle is same?

      I haven't sealed the areas around the holes to allow the epoxy to penetrate as best as possible, maybe I should have mentioned it. In my opinion, the bow ties are just as strong as these, I only use them when they will be visible because they look nicer

    I saw how much you are charging for this table. I was surprised that it wasn't at lease 2000 euros. Don't sell yourself short, your pieces are unique and artistic. Have you ever thought of making jigsaw puzzles from wood? You certainly seem to have a talent for puzzles. 😎

    Wonderful piece. May I ask what is the 'hardwax oil' you use and is it food safe. I am a woodturner and am always 'chasing' newer ways to finish my pieces. thanks...(oh, and BTW, I have subscribed).

      Thank you! The packaging doesn't indicate anything about being food-safe. I wouldn't use it just in case, but you can search in Google about it.

    Regarding the chip out, I learned from building acoustic guitars, that a ‘CLIMB CUT’ can help reduce or eliminate the problem. Look it up…
