I know folks will say I'm a scrooge or a grinch but the taking down of Christmas decorations is such a chore that I am absolutely fine with not having any put up around my house.
We buy our son an ornament every yr in whatever his theme for his birthday for that yr was ❤. So one day he'll have ornaments of things he loves that remind him of his birthdays.
Jen I had a hard time too putting just one small tree n ornaments on it putting it away ! I saw it everyday on my table n I just left it n two Christmas pillows also oh n a door wreath that, was on my door since last wk !! I was not motivated at all !! I almost even asked my son if he could do it he just happened to stop by then I thought stop being lazy n get up n just do it !! N ur right Then I finally did put it away n now it's in a box in my indoor patio Lol... I'm so happy to finally see Murphy he's so cute on ur bed looking at u ...he's funny 😂
A tip about the Lennox dishes. My mother in law told me to put in dishwasher every other year. It’s not good for the gold around the plate. I have & they look brand new even 20 years later.

I did an ornament collection for my kids when they were growing up. They're now 37 and 30. So much fun searching for just the right ornament each year. Thank you for bringing back a lovely memory. 🥰
The last two weekends I have slept in on Saturday mornings until 11 which is basically half the day in my normal schedule and it has been glorious and I’m not at all mad about it! I feel like a teenager again. Lol

Love your hauls, and your healthy eating inspiration. I’m a retired Pediatric Nurse. Mom of two and grandma of 4. What do you guys do for a living? You said you travel a lot. Hubby did that all over 5 states for 25-30 years as an ins agent. He now works as a utilization mgr for a private Medicaid program from home- thank goodness. Yay for Color Guard for Kira!! My son plays trumpet in his high school marching band and they were chosen to March in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2023! He quit playing football to do marching band and while we were sad at first it has been an amazing experience. You are totally right. Everything has a season. Good luck to Kira!

I did that for my kids. Then when they left home I hardly had any ornaments. So now we buy an ornament for every trip we take. Slowly we have gotten a lot of ornaments. I now also get my grandkids ornaments every year. I love your vlogs.
My mom did the same thing for my sister and I with the Ornamnets it was a great idea so when we moved out we had a little collection already, I'm doing that for my kids now too and our mom still gives us all an Ornamnet each year. ❤️

Hey Jen, the Gel Drano in the gold bottle that they sell at Walmart works wonders on clogged sink.. it dissolves hair and grease fast. Being using it regularly on my sink. Love your Lenox Christmas Dish Collection.. I own have the Butterflies Meadows one, as I love 💕💕💕💕 anything with butterflies.
Concerning the ornaments that won’t all fit on your tree: I went to a smaller tree this year and so my 56 years worth of ornaments and 2 children’s ornaments won’t fit anymore, so I used ornaments in a shadow box, in my tiered tray and throughout my home that no longer would fit on the tree. I got to enjoy them even though they didn’t all fit on the tree. Also, put 1/2 cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid down sinks and toilets to help them with oil, hair and paper stoppages. It really works and doesn’t harm your plumbing. 😜
Hi Jen, my son has been diagnosed with anxiety and is seeing a counselor which is really helping him. Interestingly one of the first things she picked up on with him was his procrastination!
That's so awesome she wants to do color guard! I was in 4 years in high school. It's what made my high school years tolerable and gave me some life long friends!
Yesss!! I did color guard for all 4 years of high school! Loved it and miss it. I hope my daughters will do it too but if not at least I have my memories! Haha

Hubs was diagnosed at the same time as kiddo. Same appt. We went for kiddo and dr said yes she has ADHD and so do you dad... meds for all. It was nice because he could tell me how the meds made him feel so it was easier to deal with kiddo. It also explained so so so much! He was 36 she was 6.

Just a suggestion.... maybe a tree bag would make things easier.....they sell them on Anazon and they are very similar to a hockey bag. I just throw mine over my shoulder to take my tree to storage.... it seems much easier. Great video.

I have an idea for your kids Christmas ornaments. Let your kids have a small tree in there room, like a 4 foot tree, then they can have their own decorations on their own tree. That way when they can move out, they have a small tree and ornaments. The big tree in the living room can be just a family tree with regular ornaments on them.
I hope your kids appreciate the ornaments when they move out. I did the same for my kids. I tried to give my son his ornaments the first year he was married and he didn't want them. Kinda broke my heart. They are stored in a box with his name on it with our Christmas stuff. Maybe some day (when that day comes) he will find them and appreciate them for what I meant them to be.
My mom has bought a Hallmark ornament every year for my kids. It is something they will always cherish. I have to ask what color your bedroom walls are? Such a pretty color.

Belle does boxing 5 days a weeks right now and was on a swim team prior to Covid but I swear Covid created soooo much anxiety she didn’t want to do it anymore 😢 but she told me the other day she’s interested in starting up again! I can’t keep up 😆

She got a new gown a few years ago but still looks lovely. Ditto the nativity set. Those hold memories. We have a pre-lit tree from Costco. Had it 6 years. Doing well. Bummer yours quit. Congrats on the weight loss! Hang in there.
Dang girl! You are so organized! All my stuff is in cardboard boxes, stuffed up in the attic. 😂 Isanyone else feel like me, it seems to be so easy to put up all of my Christmas stuff up, but so exhausting to put it up! I think we should skip Halloween and Thanksgiving and start putting up our Christmas decorations in October so we can enjoy them more than a couple of weeks. 😅
My daughter was born in 2009 too, and pretty much every ornament you showed was exactly what my daughter was into that year as well! She pushed that Cinderella dress button over and over. I was terribly sad when it wore out 😆. The Converse and Ramen 😱 she would have flipped! I didn't see those anywhere.

Whenever we travel to visit family in Iowa, we do a ‘field trip’ to Menards. LOL
