Completely understand the frustration around Batman, but flat gamers already several Batman games... can't VR finally get 1?! As for Quest 3 exclusivity, this industry moves so fast. If we want better fidelity and/or quality, we need to understand some hardware will be left behind. Additionally, like Matteo mentioned with Meta funding Batman, if it's half of what Asgard's Wrath 2 is in quality, it will be Amazing. Many wrote that they would rather this game not exist at all than that it would be VR. Like a dog in the manger. As for Quest 2 being slowly abandoned? Well, everyone knew this moment would come someday... Quest 2 is a really great headset and deserves huge respect, but it's time to give way to its successor, for the good of the entire VR platform.
Sony don't need to buy vr companies and bankroll studios. They just need to keep going the hybrid route to get their big games in vr as psvr2 is powerful enough to run current gen games in vr. Madison ,Res evils, gt7 and no man's sky are some of the best vr has to offer
@@iwantalot You do realize Sony bought Firesprite to make Horizon Call of the Mountain, and paid Capcom to port the RE games to VR right? Just like they paid for Synapse, Switchback, and Firewall Ultra. They also helped pay for games like Legendary Tales, and a number of other indie titles. So they've literally bought a VR company and bankrolled other studios. And yes, Sony needs to do these things. The PSVR 2's install base is not big enough at this point for most third-party publishers/developers to choose to support it of their own accord. Even hybrid games take a lot of time and effort (and therefore money) to bring to VR, so much so that most companies wouldn't do it without being paid by a platform holder.
I hate to be that guy, but I also love to be that guy. Good riddance to the Quest 2, it was fun but I’m ready to start seeing with the Quest 3 can really do. The graphics processor is damn near 3 times as powerful so with proper optimization we could see graphics never before seen on standalone hardware. Even if it’s not from Camouflaj, eventually Quest games are going to have a clear increase in Quality. Not to mention it raises the bar for all of VR, because all games will only have to target the Quest 3 the lowest common denominator. If you ask me this is fantastic news lol

Quest 3 graphics patch is coming soon, but even with that you gotta keep in mind that graphics “enhancements” will never be as good as building a game from the ground up with specific specs In mind. So no Asgards Wrath 2 did nothing to prove anything about Quest 3.

Glad to see that VR devs continue to support their games with multiple quaility of life/game play updates. Could only wish the big box studios operated the same. Also got a pair of the vr rock lenses, night and day comfort difference compared to wearing glasses.
I'm a PCVR guy. I'm not big into the whole superhero world so I'm not too excited about Batman but my initial feeling was that it's getting annoying with all these Meta exclusives coming out. I use a Quest 3 headset but I really don't care much for Meta exclusive games. It's sad to see all these resources being dumped into something that will be inferior because it has to fit into their little stand alone box. It's just getting annoying at this point. Also, I don't want to invest much into Meta exclusives because my next headset might not be a Meta headset. Sticking to Steam for the most part.
I think mechanics based on stealth and sticking to the shadows as you take down each enemy one by one would be amazing gameplay for VR and would also translate well to the Arkham games that already exist for Batman
I just realized that a big title "Arken Age" set to be released in Q2 2024 will only be coming out on SteamVR and PSVR2. Previously, they had listed Oculus as one of the platforms on which it will be released, but that's changed. I'm guessing that this game requires a PC or a console and previously it was going to be released on Oculus Rift (PCVR), but since Meta is moving away from PCVR, it's no longer coming out on Rift and the devs aren't making a Quest 3 port for it. Now that's going to be sad for Quest 3 users who don't have SteamVR or PSVR2. I think the best investment I made in VR after getting my first and only VR headset: Quest 2 is my gaming PC 🙂

Vr industry: here’s Batman, asgards wrath, horizon, alien rogue incursion, etc. Flatscreeners: what! this is nuts, what a mistake to leave us hanging! You just can’t make people happy. Especially gamers. I’m glad that we are seeing a bit more exclusives. Ps5 has exclusives ps4 didn’t have. Why should it be any different with quest 3?
I'll never own a Quest headset, but I don't mind the Batman game being exclusive. That said, I can understand why Quest 2 owners (especially recent ones) would be upset. I think the announcement would've gone over better if it were made AFTER the Quest 3 Lite was announced, so people didn't think their only option to play the game was buying a full priced Quest 3. The real test will be the gameplay reveal. If the game doesn't do anything the Quest 2 couldn't handle (with a graphics downgrade), I think the frustration/disappointment will intensify.
With the Q3 lite coming out "soon", it will help soothe the feelings of the Q2 owners. I just bought a Q2 last week, for a cheap second headset, knowing that this day was coming soon. At the new price I still feel it's a good deal. Current plan is to buy a Q3 lite or a second Q3 in the next couple months, so I'll have 3 headsets for at home multiplayer fun.
Batman vs Predator *mic drop*. I have a gut feeling that Meta held back on some of the tech for quest 3 and will (hopefully) launch it for quest 4. I would of have the quest 3 but I lost my job in August '22
I have a quest 2 but want them to stop supporting 2 as it’s holding back the 3 potential just like the ps5. It sucks but I want to see the full potential of a quest 3 soon and not at the end of its life cycle
Being hungover at work sucks for most of us, but for Matteo it can’t be that bad… For those upset about the new Batman game being a Quest exclusive, don’t worry. Batman uses a digital avatar of himself for all content creation, so if he wants to make another game on another platform he can do that at the same time. And we desperately need some killer Q3-only games to pull console players and others into VR, and hopefully this title does that and proves what Q3 can really do, but we’ll see. Personally I think it’s a great move and overdue.
I’m really looking forward to Batman, as for people being upset. Things have to progress, it’s unfortunate for people who have not got a Quest 3. But that is how hardware gets sold. Buy a Quest 3.
i mean it's the normal thing it's just that time Quest 2 starts getting left behind. Because trying to provide for quest 2 will hold back what the games for quest 3 can do. I'm planning a quest 3 but I am debating on waiting to see what other companies come up with especially the AROG.. id hate myself if I bought a Quest 3 and a few weeks later that would come out.
The question is : is this good for VR in general ? Will this bring more player ? ( that in turn, will make bigger games possible ) On one hand, the mobile graphics have clearly been holding back VR, and it will help with that. On the other hand, it re-divides the market. And if confirms that it's a plateform with a 3 years life-cycle. So for enthusiasts. Also, it's one thing to drop a plateform when you've had your fill of games, but I feel the Q2 never held it's promise to have AAA titles ! There was Aasgard wrath 2, wich almost did it. RE4 I guess. And that's it. I mean, sure, we knew the Q2 would be dropped eventually. But I expected it to be AFTER we see those AAA games meta promised !

Alien isnt a quest 3 exclusive so i will play on my rift s or quest 2 via virtual desktop when it comes out , its also coming to PSVR2 which i do want , just for the resident evil exclusive VR MODES 😊😊😊 I cant justify getting a quest 3 for batman alone .😊
With all these announcements I’m starting to think what happened to the Gaming Showcase? It was usually my Highlight of the year. I was very excited about it but appears like it might not even happen this year.

My opinion…don’t buy old hardware, especially if it’s being reduced. Technology moves so fast that you will be on the losing side to buy old technology. When the Q3 came out why buy the Q2? Same with consoles. When the PS5 or Xbox Series X came out why buy old PS4 or buy the under powered Xbox S? Take the hit up front and move on because the old consoles/VRs will be obsolete sooner than later and games will soon not be supported. It’s inevitable and you are wasting your money rather saving your money in the long run. As soon as Q3 was released I upgraded from Q2 didn’t think twice, same with consoles. Just made sense from a technology proofing sense and didn’t look back. Technology is just that way. If you don’t have the money then wait until you do, don’t go and get last generation hardware because it’s cheaper-it’s cheaper for a reason-it’s becoming obsolete and support of games and updates will stop for it sooner than later so don’t do it. Upgrade or wait until you have the money to do so, period.
The Quest 3 is just an incredible headset.... standalone and with PC. I distched my index snd upgraded to the Quest 3 - so much better.... sadly my psvr2 is collecting dust. Worst purchase decision ever. Im gona sell it at a loss
The Arkham drama is so dumb, the flatscreen fanbase is so off the target with their anger. I understand the PSVR2/PCVR disappointment a lot more. The game wouldn't exist if Meta wasn't paying for development. I think it's very much an aftereffect of the suicide squad shitstorm
Iron Man did not make me feel like a super hero, it made me feel like someone who stole a half functioning IM suit with jets only in the hands and legs that don't move. Seriously, if the Batman game is to be a hub with no interactive objects, and nothing but arcade style mission to start from the hub, that's a hard pass. We're talking 14 years since Arkham Asylum on flat screen. If I can't sail across an open world Gotham, swoop down and take out some bad guys, grapple back up and sail to open world missions with a brilliant story and some decent voice acting, I'm pretty much disappointed. Let's see once some gameplay is available. 🤷
I hope so too, but I've been doing it so long man, its like they aren't even really trying. The game I am picturing in my head is possible, probably even on a Q3. If you took the mechanics and open world of Stormland and kept that feel for going wherever and doing whatever you want the way we could in Arkham, mix it with that beautiful background we saw in the trailer, it would blow minds. What I don't want is another game I'll play in two days and never pick up again. I tried playing Iron Man recently and I am literally stuck in a mission I can't get out of, I don't know how to pick up the box and I can't go back to the hub, so I replay the mission until I'm stuck, consider restarting in a new save and just give up. It really isn't a well put together game. Proportions are all wrong and the hub (Tony's workshop) isn't interactive at all. The few items you can touch like the boxing glove and the basketballs are clumsy, everything else is just decoration. I should never be able to put my hands right through objects, it breaks immersion. Gotham is a living breathing city, we've seen it many times from the games to Tim Burton to the TV series. It deserves better than a simple backdrop. We deserve a Gotham we can explore for days finding collectibles, solving puzzles, and doing some radial missions. For all this hype and after all this time I am rooting for a really good game... but bracing for another disappointment. @Gamingwithmatteo311

No thanks, not supporting Quest. It has the shortest VR life span, 3 years is a joke. Even PSVR1 games are still coming and PSVR2. WHY Meta killing off their biggest selling headset, makes no sence. They would rather push newer hardware and drop the older one in a heart beat just to make lots of money. Forcing you to buy the newer headset. Don't want to be part of a company dropping the older hardware not long after the new one Is out. Why not adopt the way pc games work, and silders, etc to adjust to your specs so even 5 new games work on your 5 year old pc, just adjust graphics and other adjustments to run on your specs. I would think the Quest 3 life will be even shorter with Quest 4. The Mentality of Meta to drop their biggest selling vr headset with biggest user base is senseless and pushing Quest 3 as a pure money making thing and your mucked into it. with meta going pseudo open source does this mean we can play meta games on pcvr soon? have they talked about this? even with this recent news i am still stuck making a decision whether or not i should get a Q3 or wait for the index2 or whatever is releasing this or early next year. i mean would it be possible to boot their OS through windows..
And buy for your use-case. If you wanna play now, buy a headset within your budget on the platform your game is available on. If you wait for the best/greatest/newest you will be waiting forever. For me the q3 was a must buy as I’m already into their pick up and play ecosystem. Just wished devs would release more cross buy with meta link.

You’re talking about two entirely different architectures. Best case you’re going to need an ARM emulator running on your PC. VR is also moving far too fast to expect 10 years out of a headset unless you want 5 of those years to be disappointing thinking about the new headset you aren’t buying.
@@Thezuule1 i don't understand your second part about vr moving too fast. it's mostly been the same for the past 10 years, and hl alyx is still the best game in most peoples eyes. the only thing missing is literally the comfort of the quest3 maybe 100gr lighter with the quality of the vision pro. it's possible right now someone just has to make it. people have been using the index for 5 years almost you think a quest3 pro wouldn't be used for at least 10 years if the resolution was on par with the vision pro which mind you is the end of the line for how high the resolution will ever get for vr. i don't care about passthrough so maybe you're talking about that. passthrough is for sure gonna get better whether it's going to be useful is another thing i much rather use real monitors now that i have given it more thought. even if these headsets were tiny glasses i wouldn't want to replace my monitors. the changes we will see from now on out are going to be so incremental most people won't care about new headsets unless it comes with really cool graphics... but just like flat screen games gaming 20 years ago was just as good if not better. i could name 10 games i'd much rather play from 20 years ago than any vr game ever released.

PCVR is on life support. They don’t invest into it because there’s limit return on the investment.

Batman vs Predator *mic drop*. I have a gut feeling that Meta held back on some of the tech for quest 3 and will (hopefully) launch it for quest 4. I would of have the quest 3 but I lost my job in August '22
I have a quest 2 but want them to stop supporting 2 as it’s holding back the 3 potential just like the ps5. It sucks but I want to see the full potential of a quest 3 soon and not at the end of its life cycle

For those upset about the new Batman game being a Quest exclusive, don’t worry. Batman uses a digital avatar of himself for all content creation, so if he wants to make another game on another platform he can do that at the same time.
And we desperately need some killer Q3-only games to pull console players and others into VR, and hopefully this title does that and proves what Q3 can really do, but we’ll see. Personally I think it’s a great move and overdue.
I'm annoyed that Batman isn't coming to PCVR. I have a Quest 3 so I will still play it but I really like earning Steam achievements.

I’m really looking forward to Batman, as for people being upset. Things have to progress, it’s unfortunate for people who have not got a Quest 3. But that is how hardware gets sold. Buy a Quest 3.

i mean it's the normal thing it's just that time Quest 2 starts getting left behind. Because trying to provide for quest 2 will hold back what the games for quest 3 can do. I'm planning a quest 3 but I am debating on waiting to see what other companies come up with especially the AROG.. id hate myself if I bought a Quest 3 and a few weeks later that would come out.

The question is : is this good for VR in general ? Will this bring more player ? ( that in turn, will make bigger games possible )
On one hand, the mobile graphics have clearly been holding back VR, and it will help with that.
On the other hand, it re-divides the market. And if confirms that it's a plateform with a 3 years life-cycle. So for enthusiasts.
Also, it's one thing to drop a plateform when you've had your fill of games, but I feel the Q2 never held it's promise to have AAA titles ! There was Aasgard wrath 2, wich almost did it. RE4 I guess. And that's it.
I mean, sure, we knew the Q2 would be dropped eventually. But I expected it to be AFTER we see those AAA games meta promised !

Alien isnt a quest 3 exclusive so i will play on my rift s or quest 2 via virtual desktop when it comes out , its also coming to PSVR2 which i do want , just for the resident evil exclusive VR MODES 😊😊😊

With all these announcements I’m starting to think what happened to the Gaming Showcase? It was usually my Highlight of the year. I was very excited about it but appears like it might not even happen this year.

Vr haters will always exist. Rather than hate they should buy a quest 3 and join the party.
My opinion…don’t buy old hardware, especially if it’s being reduced. Technology moves so fast that you will be on the losing side to buy old technology. When the Q3 came out why buy the Q2? Same with consoles. When the PS5 or Xbox Series X came out why buy old PS4 or buy the under powered Xbox S? Take the hit up front and move on because the old consoles/VRs will be obsolete sooner than later and games will soon not be supported. It’s inevitable and you are wasting your money rather saving your money in the long run. As soon as Q3 was released I upgraded from Q2 didn’t think twice, same with consoles. Just made sense from a technology proofing sense and didn’t look back. Technology is just that way. If you don’t have the money then wait until you do, don’t go and get last generation hardware because it’s cheaper-it’s cheaper for a reason-it’s becoming obsolete and support of games and updates will stop for it sooner than later so don’t do it. Upgrade or wait until you have the money to do so, period.
The Quest 3 is just an incredible headset.... standalone and with PC. I distched my index snd upgraded to the Quest 3 - so much better.... sadly my psvr2 is collecting dust. Worst purchase decision ever. Im gona sell it at a loss
The Arkham drama is so dumb, the flatscreen fanbase is so off the target with their anger. I understand the PSVR2/PCVR disappointment a lot more. The game wouldn't exist if Meta wasn't paying for development. I think it's very much an aftereffect of the suicide squad shitstorm

Iron Man did not make me feel like a super hero, it made me feel like someone who stole a half functioning IM suit with jets only in the hands and legs that don't move.
Seriously, if the Batman game is to be a hub with no interactive objects, and nothing but arcade style mission to start from the hub, that's a hard pass.
We're talking 14 years since Arkham Asylum on flat screen. If I can't sail across an open world Gotham, swoop down and take out some bad guys, grapple back up and sail to open world missions with a brilliant story and some decent voice acting, I'm pretty much disappointed.
Let's see once some gameplay is available. 🤷

The game I am picturing in my head is possible, probably even on a Q3. If you took the mechanics and open world of Stormland and kept that feel for going wherever and doing whatever you want the way we could in Arkham, mix it with that beautiful background we saw in the trailer, it would blow minds.
What I don't want is another game I'll play in two days and never pick up again. I tried playing Iron Man recently and I am literally stuck in a mission I can't get out of, I don't know how to pick up the box and I can't go back to the hub, so I replay the mission until I'm stuck, consider restarting in a new save and just give up. It really isn't a well put together game. Proportions are all wrong and the hub (Tony's workshop) isn't interactive at all. The few items you can touch like the boxing glove and the basketballs are clumsy, everything else is just decoration. I should never be able to put my hands right through objects, it breaks immersion.
Gotham is a living breathing city, we've seen it many times from the games to Tim Burton to the TV series. It deserves better than a simple backdrop. We deserve a Gotham we can explore for days finding collectibles, solving puzzles, and doing some radial missions.
For all this hype and after all this time I am rooting for a really good game... but bracing for another disappointment.

WHY Meta killing off their biggest selling headset, makes no sence. They would rather push newer hardware and drop the older one in a heart beat just to make lots of money. Forcing you to buy the newer headset. Don't want to be part of a company dropping the older hardware not long after the new one Is out.
Why not adopt the way pc games work, and silders, etc to adjust to your specs so even 5 new games work on your 5 year old pc, just adjust graphics and other adjustments to run on your specs. I would think the Quest 3 life will be even shorter with Quest 4.

I can understand PSVR2 users being upset that they're not getting Batman, but Flat Screen gamers can't really complain. They get the vast majority of AAA titles out there. Let vr gamers have their day in the sun. I'm super hyped for it.

You’re talking about two entirely different architectures. Best case you’re going to need an ARM emulator running on your PC. VR is also moving far too fast to expect 10 years out of a headset unless you want 5 of those years to be disappointing thinking about the new headset you aren’t buying.
@@Thezuule1 i don't understand your second part about vr moving too fast. it's mostly been the same for the past 10 years, and hl alyx is still the best game in most peoples eyes. the only thing missing is literally the comfort of the quest3 maybe 100gr lighter with the quality of the vision pro. it's possible right now someone just has to make it. people have been using the index for 5 years almost you think a quest3 pro wouldn't be used for at least 10 years if the resolution was on par with the vision pro which mind you is the end of the line for how high the resolution will ever get for vr. i don't care about passthrough so maybe you're talking about that. passthrough is for sure gonna get better whether it's going to be useful is another thing i much rather use real monitors now that i have given it more thought. even if these headsets were tiny glasses i wouldn't want to replace my monitors. the changes we will see from now on out are going to be so incremental most people won't care about new headsets unless it comes with really cool graphics... but just like flat screen games gaming 20 years ago was just as good if not better. i could name 10 games i'd much rather play from 20 years ago than any vr game ever released.
