  • I am with my brother Stephen in this fishing adventure. He has the itch to get his first Halibut of the season and that is the goal of the day. I gave Steve first fish of the day because you never know what will happen. Well what happened is we caught 15 fish including a bonus personal best 13 pound striped bass. We trolled herring and anchovies along the bottom. What a day!

    I don’t live in the Bay Area anymore. I miss it so much. Love seeing some spots I haven’t seen in over 20 yrs. stuck in North Texas 🤠. Loved Northern California. San Mateo, SF, Belmont and than Roseville. Fished the Bay and areas near the Motherload! Thanks for the great shots☮️!

    Hey Chris can you do a video on your fish finder? The pros and cons of it? We are looking to get a much better one and the one you have looks legit!

    • @ChrisPfish2
      @ChrisPfish2  3 года назад

      Hi Stephanie, I dont think I will make a video about the fish finder. I know you watch a lot and I will try and talk about it more in my videos. Overall I like it. I havent tried everything on it and I dont even have all the features set up. The graph, fish finder and radar all work well. Depth/fish finder doesnt work past 400-500 feet unless you get a bigger transducer. they are raymarine axiom pro 9 rvx (display) & quantum 2 q24d doppler 18" (radar). A friend of a friend works at raymarine and I talked to him. They recommend it after a long conversation. Thats why I chose it. hope that helps- Chris

    • @ChrisPfish2
      @ChrisPfish2  3 года назад +1

      i like them. The speed precision doesnt matter as much for halibut or salmon trolling in bay or ocean. I know it will come in handy on the sac river and lakes. The tailfin does really well, I like it a lot, not having to sit at the wheel. It does not preform to well in higher wind. I need to direct main motor with steering wind to help direct the boat. hope that helps. thanks for watching

    If stripers are hindering salmon populations in California’s open bays & inland delta/rivers then wouldn’t they be okay to keep? They’re good eating when fried. Very nice fish man, love your channel.

    • @ChrisPfish2
      @ChrisPfish2  3 года назад

      yeah they are good eating and okay to keep. I like to eat smaller fish for a few reasons. striped bass from the bay has more mercury then halibut and I already eat enough fish. I think nothing wrong with keeping it or letting it go. we were 50/50, lucky fish!

    Striper do eat salmon but so do bass. Be careful calling striper salmon killers unless your wanting a crazy eradication bill to pass. There are many factors salmon aren’t as prevalent as they use to be. Striper are an awesome sport fish and excellent eating also. The fishing diversity is what makes the ocean,bay,delta so awesome. Keep up the awesome videos. Nice work

    Man, nobody wants to go fishing, none of my friends are fishermen... I got a small aluminum and access to all the bait you could ask for... pile and blood worms, trayed chovies, trayed sardines, trayed herring, frozen mackerel, you name it... I work at the best bait company around, if you buy bait besides live fish, chances are it came from my work, and depending where you got it, I can tell you who delivered it.. wanna go together sometime, I’ll just kinda tag along on my own boat and I’ll bring the bait... I gotta get some salty blood on it.
    Edit: even the river, stripers on fire at Freeport and heading north, I’m in sac..
