@@popvocalstv it's a heady mix, Shawn's mix is really heady and light, if you compare with his Eb5 in Queen or even with his D5 in ABU, you can tell they sound the same. It sounds different than his mask-placed head voice, you can notice this comparing with his sustained G5-A5 in Under Pressure
Can u do this but with live performances? There’s a couple songs from the new album live. It’s called wonder residency (it’s Intro, Wonder, Dream, A song for no one, Always been you and Look up at the stars)
1. You probably haven't stretched your chest voice enough 2. You haven't practiced mix in a long period of time. Slowly by slowly you can add more chest sound to your mix and mix higher notes
Be happy! That’s very good! Much more time for improvement too! Take it from someone who could only sing up to an E5 but can now go to a C6 comfortably (F6-G6 if I scream).
@@chimanruler15 I don't think so, tessitura really counts when you're well into the end of your training and often changes with good development of the right techniques. Moreover, to my knowledge bright lyric = Tenore di grazia, leggero, infact we use the term bright to differentiate it from a full lyric and better manage the operatic roles, but Lyric Tenor is the highest and only valid tenor subfach in Opera
@@gegiocavacci2589 It's true that "lyric tenor" is the highest tenor subfach in opera, but a leggero tenor and a light-lyric tenor are still two different types. Leggeros do not have the fullness of light-lyrics, but they have more agility and a higher tessitura, along with a high upper extension. They're essentially the male counterparts of lyric coloratura sopranos and light-lyric sopranos. I'm a leggero tenor myself, with passaggi at D#4 and G#4, and my tessitura goes all the way up to A4. Shawn Mendes sounds nothing like my voice type. A better example of what a leggero tenor would sound like is someone like Michael Jackson.
@@chimanruler15 I disagree, , here in italy where the term Rossini leggero first originated, it is considered the high shade of the Lyric Tenor fach, with full lyric being the low shade. I don' think Michael Jackson would be a good a example simply because he used to try to sound childish by modifying and changing his natural timbre a lot. William Matteuzzi (classical opera singer) Adam Lambert and David Phelps are true leggeros and have a high trained tessitura which spans the lower fifth 8va , David is also classically trained as a Rossini. The only male fach higher than lyric would be the Tenorino (Tenor Altino) and the very rare Male Soprano, btw you're probably the latter if your voice is way higher than Shawn, David or Adam.

how does his mix have so much chest quality to it? my mix is SO head dominant

Laryngeal and mouth position helps as well.
Omg same!!! Lol
Sometimes it's just down to range and where your voice sits comfortably.
It's all about the sinus resonance and it has to do with the pop vocal technique. Your sound has to be forward and whiney
Would u do one for bieber's new album. Really want that

The only note i cant reach is G5 and im SAD

Leggero Tenor for sure, but still not full and complete technical development of the voice
He's more a light-lyric tenor. His tessitura is lower than that of a leggero tenor.
