After Zayn's departure they've been giving the notes to Harry. Its a good thing actually cause he finally explored his chest/mixed register in the 5th octave. I'm pretty sure if Zayn was still in the band he would've taken those C5s and C#5s. For four albums he has only reached up to a B4 and now he's shown he can hit higher than the 4th octave. Louis' belts are so good in this album. The G#4 & B4 he sustained was amazing. And his high harmonies on Hey Angel were perfection. Not surprised Liam got all the falsettos/ head notes. His belts were normal but his low register was just amazing. The F#2 was so strong and supported. I wish Niall would've gotten more solos to show off his chest/mixed register and belts but his low range was quite showcased too similar to Liam.
+Bey Xtina Minaj Not only Harry though, Liam has had to give a little more work to his head-chest mix (The Bb4s in History). Thing we haven't seen him do in full voice scince the song Another World, in which he does C5s and Bb4s. Also, Harry and Liam head voice G5s in the ';Come On' line of Never Enough.
+Bey Xtina Minaj Agreed when the reality is Liam would've done those notes better. I saw them live in August and each time Liam took over a solo that was once a Zayn solo, it was one of the higher/falsetto ones and he did it with ease without copying Zayn's sound. Not that Harry copies Zayn, but Liam does that kind of solo with more ease
Louis's Range in Album: A2-B4 Liam Range In Album: F#2-G5 Niall Range In Album: F#2-Bb4 Harry Range In Album: Bb2-C#5 Niall did really improved! Yes!!! His was voice always able to do that, he was just never given the chance. He was able hit notes and belt but was never given the part in 1D. 😔 You can see getting more opportuines singing in xfactor, before xfactor, live during 1d tours and his solo however, which is great!
Seems like people is freaking out in a bad way after hearing Harry's progress. When his voice still wasn't that developed he couldn't belt that high and now that his voice is deeper and darker he delivers this killer C#5😂 well, that's good! If he was destroying his voice don't you think someone would tell him? I think he was amazing on this album, but I think he can go lower, and Louis can go higher. But I think Louis needs to quit smoking because it's obvious his voice has deteriorated. I remember watching their cd of a concert I have and there Louis' voice is really strong and is actually the one that is heard the most when all of them sing, he needs to go back to that phase. Liam, when I listen to Liam all I say is 'wow' he's the one who holds the group because he's always harmonizing. His low notes are amazing, and so it's his falsetto. His belts are good. Niall, well they're giving him lots of low notes even though he's a tenor and it's working, I mean those long way down notes!!
+Rolling Apples i know, he's probably never going to do it live but at least he did it on the studio, what kind of annoys me is that the 'fans' are always throwing shade at him, like chill everyone 😂 Is not like all of them have an impressive technique, but they always criticize Harry and praise Liam (cause he's perf), Niall and Louis.
Some of the notes assigned to Liam are wrong. However, from all the analysis it seems he has the widest range. I feel that he had limited opportunity to belt, but even when he had belting solos, during live performances he favoured his head voice or falsetto instead. Which is actually quite smart, since 1D had so many live tour performances. I think that saved his voice quite a lot. But now in his solo career, he’s shown that he can actually belt. I really think he’s underrated.
If you listen closely in Drag Me Down, before the chorus breakdown (and Harry's C5s) there's a really buried in the mix clip of Liam singing the melody line an octave down bottoming at C2 "nobody can drag me *DOWN*". You have to keep your hearing as sharp as possible. (2:22 in the YT video)
+Hussam Seif Al Deen You're free to listen as many times as you want. Go to the timestamp I provided and listen as sharply as you're able to. Buried beneath the main vocal line and the first lower octave unisone (Niall and Liam) lies yet another one on the second octave which tracks down to a C2 (nobody can drag me *down*)
